Doom3 and Quake4

Sat Jan 21, 2006 1:23 pm

I have played both these games and beaten them,
what are some games that are similar to them?
i need something to play before the expansion pack for Quake4 comes out.

Sat Jan 21, 2006 1:55 pm

Doom 3, that's hard as a motherfucker.

I have Quake 3 Arena, not Quake 4 (N)

Maybe try Halo or someting. Even Call of Duty 2, but that's not similar but it's a shooter

Sat Jan 21, 2006 2:28 pm

the latest Unreal Tournament since that's probably Quake's closest competitor. Battlefield 2 is fun too. You need lots of guys playing as a team though

Sat Jan 21, 2006 9:53 pm

What about F.E.A.R? whats that like

Sat Jan 21, 2006 10:49 pm

Doom 3 is stupid.
Why can't you carry your flashlight and gun at the same time? You have to switch between the two. That sort of stupidity just for the sake of gaming "suspense."

Sat Jan 21, 2006 10:59 pm

F.E.A.R. was kinda cool. Just saw my roommate playing though. Looks really good if you have the hardware. It's mostly inspired by those Asian horror movies with all those creepy little girls with long hair

Quake 4 is a great game to play multiplayer with someone, its only good for 1v1

Sun Jan 22, 2006 2:25 am

Doom 3 is stupid.

Agreeed. And scary if I may add. Because of the flaslight thing Professor mentiond, game gets hell out of me sometimes. That "zoombies" just pop out from dark and start punching. So, I play it with room light on, or I don't play. :x

Sun Jan 22, 2006 11:15 am

Yeah, thank god in Quake you can have a gun and flashligh out at one time, but i didnt really use the flashlight much

Sun Jan 22, 2006 12:25 pm

Half-Life 2 for Life :D

Sun Jan 22, 2006 3:26 pm

i rekon that half life 2 isnt as realistic as doom and quake :?

Mon Jan 23, 2006 9:58 pm

Realistic in what terms? Physics? AI?
IMO, The Half-Life games has the most favorable realism compared to other sci-fi FPS.

Mon Jan 23, 2006 10:03 pm

Half Life 2 was good but I couldn't clock it cos everytime i'd save and load the save file, the A.I. Gets disabled, it shits me.

Doom 3 was too scary for me cos I dont have the balls.

Call of Duty 2 is fun for multi-player.

Mon Jan 23, 2006 10:17 pm

^ Jugs you wuss.

Mon Jan 23, 2006 10:38 pm

but Jugs is only a child

Mon Jan 23, 2006 10:54 pm

He's brave enough to post in the NLSC, he's supposed to be brave enough to play Doom 3.

Mon Jan 23, 2006 11:04 pm

Yeah, I suppose.

The case for Doom 3 was more like "OMFG YOU N00BIE!! you suxx0rs at Doom 3!"

Yeah, I couldn't clock it

Mon Jan 23, 2006 11:06 pm

practice makes perfect :o

Thu Jan 26, 2006 7:20 am

only thing i liked about doom 3 was hell. i think they did a great job designing it

Thu Jan 26, 2006 8:49 am

Doom 3 was a freaking scary game. I couldn't continue playing it simply because it was too dark, and it started annoying me.

Quake 4, imo, got boring fast. Too much repetition, but maybe I've grown out of fps games :(

Thu Jan 26, 2006 10:17 am

i think you have grown out of them :P

Sat Jan 28, 2006 10:27 am

i'd say Halo 2 once u really get into it-also Half Life 2 is so hard, i hate games where it's possible to get lost and end up going backwards-that's Half Life, also it took too much room on my puter 4.5GB!

Sat Jan 28, 2006 12:07 pm

Call of Duty 2 is a great game, I got it the other day and i've already clocked around 40% of it.

Sun Jan 29, 2006 8:04 am

That's the beauty of it. You have to think about the results of your actions (just like in real life) before blowing all the stuff that you see.
