The military

Sun Oct 30, 2005 3:30 pm

So, as you guys have known over the past few months I'm thinking about joining the military after high school. I bascially had it narrowed down between the United States Army or the United States Marine Corps. I wanted to be an infantryman (which is basically a pop-up target).

Lately, I've talked with a man who is in the Air Force and he has given me a lot of good information on the Air Force. I've done some good research on it and there really is only one or two jobs that interest me with the Air Force. One of those jobs is called Aerial Gunner, where basically you sit on a helicopter and shoot things. Sounds like a real gnarly job.

Anyways, I also found out that Air Force will promise you an education meanwhile the Army can not. I'm pretty much torn between the three, I have the Army first with the Air Force second and the Marines a close third. I know pretty much 99% of you don't care but any input would be appreciated.

Hey man if it's something you really wanna do then do it. Air Force would be kinda sweet actually.. *Puts Top Gun on repeat*

Yeah, the only problem is there is only one job I'd really want to do with the Air Force and they don't like you select your job like the Army does.

You bastard you wanna be a cook or something?

Sun Oct 30, 2005 3:43 pm

Cooks actually get paid a good amount but they have to make food for like 4,000 people so they under a lot of stress.

I just found out by the Air Force guy that the Army recruiter lied to me. The Air Force would let me select my job. :)

My list-
1. Army
2. Air Force
------------------
3. Marines

What's the difference between Army and Marines? That'd be cool if you were on Delta Force.. hehehe Black Hawk Down rockkkks :headbang:

Army and Marines are two completely different branches, and the Marines has some serious issues and very little benefits compared to the Army and Air Force.

Career path.

Riot will be the infantryman that always dies first during gun battle, at least he won't be the guy who goes crazy in the heat of battle.

Air Force (Y)
You have the chance to be an astronaut if you want to. NASA selects (the best and competent) pilots from the Air Force and trains them to fly space shuttles. Sweet.
Look at your career path:
Air Force pilot --> Astronaut --> Politician
You'll finally get to implement those political idealogues of yours.
God have mercy on America.

Will you still be around the NLSC when you're gone?

Oh, and I'd say Air Force for you.

Sun Oct 30, 2005 5:44 pm

If I joined the air force I would be an aerial gunner, the dude who sits in the helicopter and shoots shit.

I watched Officer and a Gentlemen yesterday and Richard Gere got himself a free bitch only because he wore an uniform. And he wasn't even an officer yet. Perhaps that's a sign .

Too bad not everyone goes to war, plus just because you are in war doesn't mean you die. Most people make it home. 2,000 have died in Iraq, that's not even 5% of the people who has been over there.

Mon Oct 31, 2005 6:57 am

So, 2000 innocent dead people is just 5% for you. One (1) dead man is too much, not to mention 2000. I have nothing to say, I'm stuned.

2,000 is a lot, but you are saying if you go to war you won't come back when in reality modern war says the opposite.
