Suggestion concerning warez threads

Since you guys don't condone warez/illegal downloads stuff, I'd suggest not only locking but deleting those threads (or moving them to a private archive forum for future reference, if needed).

Why? Take this thread:

Even though it is locked, the topic is still there, showing people who illegally downloaded the Chinese version how to make the menus English. So basically, you could have just left it unlocked as well, wouldn't make a difference.

So, to sum it up - if you want to take a stance against illegal downloads, remove the threads altogether.

Good idea. Historically we've left them there to explain the rules but deletion is probably for the best...or perhaps deleting the links/information and locking the thread with the explanation/warning. It's probably best to lock threads that ask for links to warez but don't contain them as warnings and delete those that provide the actual resources.

That's a good idea A lot of the newer guys talk about the illegal stuff. It needs to be stopped.

Maybe you could just edit their post to say something like, "I'm a naughty pirate who posted illegal downloads" in red italic writing (without being too specific). Then that has the same affect as locking it, and the download links are gone also.
