Well, somebody learned something. Good to hear. Btw, is Bush back on vacation? I'd like to see him be a little more active with this potential threat.

Thu Sep 22, 2005 7:43 am

Be a little more active? What the fuck can he do? Build a wall and stop it from hitting us? There is really nothing you can do until after the storm hits, you don't want your rescue workers down there when the storm hits.

Anyways, I heard if New Orleans even gets 6 inches of rain the levees will break again and the city will flood all over again. We just can't get a break.

yea category 5 hurricane coming to my city, how great

Thu Sep 22, 2005 8:19 am

Everyone's evacuating... omg... I'm scared... it's getting really weird here... cell phones don't work... no more gas at the gas stations... My family is evacuating to College Station (The town of Texas A&M University) to my sister's... wish me luck guys...

Way to be sympathetic

But I'd rather live on a beach normally for 5 years and leave town for a couple days for one year. Even then a seriously bad hurricane doesn't come that often, they're just little ones. Beach>Mountains. And I have both here so I am qualified to answer.

I hope that guy who isn't Korean and paradizecityz make it out ok.

That's what I said, a little more active. You knew about how poorly Katrina was handled with all the levels of government and FEMA. Bush cut his vacation three days after Katrina hit. Like I said, I'd like to see Bush just a little, emphasis on little, more active.

Thu Sep 22, 2005 9:08 am

Good luck to you people in Houston . I hope the damage doesn't go to serious. I live up north so I really don't get any big storms , occasional blizzards though.

When The Levee Breaks is such a kick ass song. I'm surprised it doesn't get more airplay in today's current climate.

The federal government is not in charge of natural disasters. The governor dropped the ball for Katrina, not the federal government. The state had hundreds of buses SITTING IN PARKING LOTS that they could have used to evacuate the people out of the city instead of pushing them into the Superdome with no supplies.

Also, the federal government doesn't have the power to call the Lousiana National Guard, the state government has to do that.

As for Bush on "vacation", it's not really a "vacation". He gets briefed, informed and basically works while he's on vacation. The oval office goes where the President goes. Just because he isn't in the White House doesn't mean he isn't working. He can still sign bills, give orders and addresses from his ranch. He is more comfortable in his ranch, that doesn't mean he's slacking off and on "vacation".

Anyways, I hope everyone that is in the path of the hurricane gets to safety. I was watching Fox News today and it said this could be one of the top 4 strongest hurricanes ever. I don't know how reliable that is, it sounds kind of extreme but that just shows how big this storm is. It's bigger than Katrina, that's for sure.

Thu Sep 22, 2005 12:42 pm

Sorry to all of you guys, and good luck (Y) I hope everything turns out ok

Just a little offtopic: I heard a black guy say on the news that the government put bombs in the levees and blew them up so they could get rid of the black people during Katrina, hahahaha
and I bet a lot more will be done this time not only because it juts happened but because its Bushs' State

Thu Sep 22, 2005 1:14 pm

Starting to sound a little more scary. Hope you guys will be ok.

I think God's angry.

Thu Sep 22, 2005 1:18 pm

heheheh like i said, the signs are swerling up. good luck unbeleivers

on the lighter note. hope for a minimal damage and full safety to guys that are affected. take care now bye bye then (Y)

Pretty impressive size.
175mph ( 3rd strongest ever in atlantic history)
moving @ 9mph

i dont think "minimal damge" is a proper term here lol

anyway i sorta found it a little funny when someone said this is God showing his power and Bush can't stop him lol

but wow, prepare for the worst. If you thought Katrina was a bitch, Rita might be ready to be Queen of the bitches.

Thu Sep 22, 2005 1:55 pm

I thought it was some small hurricane, but now i understand its serious. Be careful there Houstoners (y)(y)(y)

Thu Sep 22, 2005 2:47 pm

Thu Sep 22, 2005 2:52 pm

man the storm kinda' moved up north a lil' from where i live...hope it keeps goin'...but this storm is no joke man....im packed and ready man...and why do people say its the end of the world? it may be 2 really bad hurricanes but there were 4 hurricanes near Florida last year...there are always maor e than we have but there is sum' scary...there is a dude who says he has powers and he predicted that katrina would hit louisiana *blow it out* and he said there would be another one to wipe out another state

Thu Sep 22, 2005 5:52 pm

im no meteorologist but that bitch is huge
good lord

Thu Sep 22, 2005 6:34 pm

These hurricanes are seriously huge, I hope all people evacuate and find a safe place to survive. Wish them well.
