Nice Tripod image.

If I get a chance, I want to read the Jackson book, although it'll cost me like 30 something euro's just to order it and all. :x

yeah i heard it was a good read.

anyways i borrowed from a lawyer friend a while back about this Chicago reporter who made a book[forget the title, no the lawyer wasnt DW] about the early 90's bulls. hell that was one sided all the way.talking about how MJ bullied his teammates and even the whole bulls franchise.

MJ bullied his teammates and even the whole bulls franchise.

He kinda did though lol.. not realyl bully but he ran the show. When you have a player like MJ on your team you give him a golden toilet to keep him happy.

I've ordered The Jordan Rules. I'll pick it up on Thursday. I can also order in The Last Season or whatever it's called but that'll cost me $65 so I'm not sure. I really wanna read Loose Balls.

Haven't really found one here that caught my interest. I think the only I found was the latest Phil Jax book. That one doesn' t really interest me at the moment

Isn't that the book I lent you?

Anyway, yeah, I've read Loose Balls; it's a funny book but it cost me $30 bucks at the time :x I've also read the Larry Bird books, which were disappointing because Larry downplays his accomplishments. He makes it sound like it's no big deal, and even though that does sound cocky, I actually don't think he was cocky at all in his books.

Best NBA book I've read: As As I Wanna Be by Dennis Rodman.

Read MJ's 'Rare Air' today. Great book, great pics and nicely written. Just that it's so damn short...

By the way Jae, I wouldnt take what it stands in Jordan Rules too seriously considering none of the stuff in it was actually confirmed by anyone or backed up.

I just finished Phils book and its pretty good, he bashes Kobe every two page which is pretty funny. I think "Tales from the bulls hardwood" by Bill Wennington is a good book if you want to know about the 90s bulls from someone who wasnt a star thats your book. In it Bill says Toni Kukok and Scottie Pippen were the best dresssers behind MJ.

Reggies Millers book.

I love being the enemy.

What happened during the 1994-1995 season.

Wed Aug 03, 2005 8:39 am

A kobe fan talking about "I love being the enemy." You do realize Reggie hates your idol right? I remember when Reggie beat his ass, that was great :D

Well, he stole the book I was gonna say. But Phil's book was really good, the Jordan Rules was amazing, and Bill Russels book will shock you. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de ... s&n=507846

Legend, tell us some of the inside scoop about players, as you said on your first post! (smelliest, funniest, etc.) :P

I think John Starks was mentioned as the funniest I believe, and as for the stinkiest, it was a teammate on the team. Arman Gilliam maybe? Maybe Legend will remember as we read the same book.

I remember reading the reason that Jamie Feick grabbed so many boards is because he stunk and no one wanted to challenge him for it.

Jordan Rules was a gossipy book that was full of rumors.. take it for what its worth.

If you want a good book about the Jordan years (not just centered around chicago), get playing for keeps. My favourite nba book. Has chapters on detroit, boston, portland, new york, utah... its a great read.

Other good books are:
Kobe Bryant- Mad Game
Aint no Tommorow (about the lakers 2001 championship)
Shaq talks back
more than a game: phil jackson and charley rosen

These are just books that havent been mentioned yet.

anyone read Barkley's Who's afraid of the big black man? Didn't read it. The title just caught my attention. Don't think it talks about basketball but more about racism.

Wed Aug 03, 2005 9:56 pm

I got Barkley's "I may be wrong but I doubt it". Its a terrible book. Waste of money.

it's probably ghost-written like most sports books (N) I find the best ones are the ones that the sportspeople actually write themselves rather than having some chump come along for the ride and edit out all the meaningful, personal stories and intricacies of their lives....

Arman Gilliam was the cheapest player in the NBA. He lived next door to Williams and sometimes he would switch the powerlines to Jayson's house so he gets billed for the power lmao.

Smelliest was the european players, he didn't mention specific players I don't think. (Gonna have to double check that) He mentioned the european players never wore deoderant

Jayson Williams had a fascination with guns, he'd always get into bar fights and end up kickin someones ass.. one funny ass read for sure. Theres so much more that I just dont remember.. I'll update ya :)

Care to re-type the whole thing word for word for those of us who don't want to fork out $50 to get it shipped over
