Scientology

What the heck is it? I tried reading about it on their own site but all I got was vague concepts whose sole purpose is to sell the books and stuff on that site.

Could anyone give me some basic info regarding that "religion."

Scientology, as far as I know, is a religion, that begun as a philosophy.
Their goal is to have an utopic world, without violence or hate and that stuff, they're pretty idealistic if you ask me.

I recently read that Tom Cruise (a famous practicioner of sc.) manifested his belief that Psychiatry should be banned as a form of science, because it was "barbaric" and "had a solution for everything in drugs".

I find those declarations the most ignorant thing I've heard in years, but I do not know if it is TC's point of view, or the whole Church of Sc.'s.

I'm not, just interested to know what it is about. Knowing something is different from doing something. Taking poison is different from knowing that it is poison.

By saying "ancestors" you make it sound like the Stone Age or somn.

In the mid-90s there were still people doing supposedly "medical" lobotomies in chronically affected psychiatric patients. This happened in a lot of countries, including mine.

That's true. A huge percentage of Hollywood actors are in Scientology. I think the inventor of Scientology said something about making money off inventing religions

i have sense, like a sense of humor but i dont make my own sense or something.anyways i can't contribute about scientology since i never known it or has any inclination to know it..IMO its hogwash and unethical. well everyone has it's own opinion

Ron Hubbard was a psychology student who got his thesis rejected by the board for being unethic. I don't remember why it was unethic in the first place but anyway he decided to publish his thesis (The Dianetics) which was view and is still view by many as brainwashing. The whole concept of scientology is that psychologists are the enemy, guess where they got that idea and there's also a conspiracy for world domination (no kidding) but what weirdos like that doesn't...
