Quoting pictures

To lessen the stress of pictures hosted and general bandwidth, I would suggest that quoted pictures are only quoted as hyperlinks , not as visible picutures.

This can be done, and should the admins not know how, they should feel free to contact me.

I'll be in touch shortly, while this is an apparent option in Vbulletin, it doesn't seem to be an actual feature with phpbb at the moment.. strange, I was sure I had this configured with pbpbb as well.

I don't understand, this feature won't really lessen the volume of the bandwith, as when a image is showed once, it can be displayed as many times as you want without eating bandwith another time

You have a point, if that is true - which I am quite sure it is.

But at least quoting pictures will lessen the size of threads.

I don't see the point, the image tags are there so that we can show each other pictures without having to click to go to another site. Is bandwidth really such an issue with the NLSC?

The people at the NLSC are quite user-friendly, we give a warning when we post huge/large pictures (which doesn't happen all that often), most of the pictures we use are 56K friendly.

I'm on a shit connection so if someone quotes a huge picture I just edit it anyways.

flixotide's right, at last it could decrease the length of some threads. If it's easy to implement in phpbb2 i'd say go for it

So you know how to do it in phpbb? I pm'ed andrew cuz I'm only familiar with vbulletin and wasn't aware this place was phpbb driving.

I agree it is kind of annoying. I think it could be a good idea but I really don't mind at all.
