PS3 vs. XBOX 360

Good article, and it'll help us people decide what to buy.

Thu May 19, 2005 10:10 am

meh, I'll get bolth.

but if I had to choose, I'd say the PS3

Thu May 19, 2005 10:29 am

I'll have a hard time waiting, but in the end I think I'd rather get PS3. It really pissed me off that I got a Gamecube thinking it'd be great while my friends got PS2's and couldn't stop talking about how great they were.

Thu May 19, 2005 10:54 am

I probably won't get any of them since my parents think buying me a console is a waste of money and I'm too lazy to save up my own money. But I'll be graduating in a year so I'll be earning my own income then. If I'll buy a console, it'll be a PS3 first. If I really want some guys for Xbox 360 and I still have money I'd go for it as well

Thu May 19, 2005 11:12 am

XBOX 360, without a doubt. XBOX Live, the games, and microsoft's quality turn me on.

I hate Sony, personally, so I doubt I'll ever get a PS3 unless it's the greatest thing ever.

Thu May 19, 2005 11:53 am

If I am going to buy one of these, I will go with PS3 but I am not sure if I am going to even pay the money for a console.

Nice article by the way (Y)

Here's a screenshot from a PS3 game: Killzone 2

even though I owned PS1 and PS2, the lure of being able to plug my iPod into the XBox 360 might be too much....nothing like a bit of Metallica or Black Sabbath playing during NBA Live or whatever (Y)

will probably hold out a little and decide after I get a better idea of each system and when prices drop a little

Like the fact that you can plug the PSP into the XBox 360 :D

Xbox 360. Can't wrong with Bill Gates

why would a Microsoft product go with a Sony product? :?

Fri May 20, 2005 11:23 am

the Nintendo system (I think it's called evolution or something like that) apparently has backwards compatibility with all previous Nintendo systems... being able to play my old Nintendo and Super Nintendo games is a big plus (Y)
but I think I'll get the PS3 when the price comes down

Yeah that sounds sick.
I cant wait to see the controller, I mean Gamecube, N64 and SNES all in one? sweet.
I wont get it, but it sounds awesome.

That sounds all nice and all, but when you want some new games to play, and they don't come out with any because Revolution ends up being horrible and nobody buys it, don't come crying to me. :scold: That's what happened to me with Gamecube. :|

Fri May 20, 2005 1:33 pm

Nintendo systems rarely get third party support nowadays. Especially since the Gamecube hardware sucked compared to other consoles. At least they're not going with a kiddie design for the Revolution...Gamecube looks so bubblegum pop-ish

Fri May 20, 2005 1:44 pm

wow both consoles look great. Wireless controllers... finally! No more tripping over the controls.. plus 7 controls for PS3 instead of 2 like ps1/2.. nice..
online play should be fun though.

Fri May 20, 2005 6:22 pm

you can purchase a nintendo 64 for 2 bucks here in sydney

gamecubes go for about 80 bucks. :?

Fri May 20, 2005 8:54 pm

Nintendo will bomb once again IMHO....my mates a big fan and always buys every new Nintendo system regardless....

he reckons the PS3 might be like the XBox 360 in the fact you might be able to play your iPod into it....anyone heard anything along these lines or is it only gonna be the XBox 360?!?

Sat May 21, 2005 4:45 am

I read some computer magazine in school with my friend today (Game Informer?) and it had a whole thing on the 360, and apparently...

1. You can buy games off of X-Box live which will be stored on your 50+ Gigabyte hard drive.
2. It has support for High Definition TVs.
3. It has a detatchable hard-drive.

sounds pretty sweet I guess

The buying offline actually sounds really cool but the only thing is you won't have a disc or anything. So if you delete it, you won't have it. Unless it saves that you bought it and you can download it again.

XBOX 360. As Cripwalkink said, Can't be wrong with Bill Gates!

Sat May 21, 2005 7:16 am

I just went to my local EB Games, I put $50 down and preordered XBOX 360. (Y)

Guy at the store said he expects it to be about $399, which includes a game of some sort.
