Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

Well, it's taken pretty damn long. At a rate of 1.27 posts a day, I have finally managed to place myself among those in the 1,000 Post Club -- which has seemed to grow pretty large over the past year.
I don't really intend to make mine stand out, so I guess I'll just go with the old cliche of how I made myself aquainted with the boards. Alright, then.
I came on during NBA Live 2000. I was computer-impaired and it took me about a month to figure out how to download patches. It was pretty cool though. I made my appearances on the NBA Talk section, first posting in red(hideous over black), and then a bold white.
It wasn't too long until I got into my first flame war, versus Ben, I believe. I refused to believe that Michael Jordan was anything less than the greatest basketball player of all time. This would pretty much carry on to the General Talk section where I refused to believe that Tupac Shakur was anything less than the greatest rapper of all time. I was close-minded, unable to separate facts and opinions. Then I took a stab at this girlfriend, Pail, and before I knew it...I was banned.
But then the new NLSC site was made, and I quickly signed up, grabbed the dark blue font, and ran with it. For the past two-plus years, it's been real fun. I've still had my run-ins with Ben, but nothing to get serious over, and I've still made myself look like a liberal fool. And now, I'm at my 1,000th post. This is pretty sweet.
I guess I'll move on to the shoutouts. Here we are --
Andrew: Nice job running the site. You've done a commendable job, and it's always nice to talk 1990s with you.
Ben: You're smarter than me, clearly. But it's been fun expressing my opinions, no matter how opposite they are to your's.
Tales, Stevan, and Jae: I don't really get you guys, but you're vets, and well, you bring good humor to the boards. But either way, you fall into the same category in my mind.
Sauru: Do you even live in the vicinity of Massachusetts?
DRESPN: It's been a pleasure every time you pop around. I remember taking a half hour to read one of your posts during the black & white days, and a few years later, me and you are talking Kobe Bryant and Tupac.
TheCambyManVol3: I forget your first name. Matthew, is it? I don't know. I didn't wanna seem like an ass and put the wrong name down, so I just decided to put your user name. Anyways, it seems as if we disagree on just about everything, but I still respect your knowledge.
Fgrep15: I already know you from another board(Shhh, it's ESPN...) so I guess you deserved a sentence.
I honestly can't really think of any other people who I can give a sentence. There are those who I immensely respect but I'd look like a moron trying to discuss with -- Limp, Shane...Then there's those who are around the forum a ton, and I respect them because they are 1) knowledgeable of the NBA, and 2) use good grammar --

If I didn't mention you, well, I have my reasons. Either that or I just forgot. Gimme a break, I don't even play NBA Live.
And on my last note -- Obama '08.

Even though you don't play, you can't live without the NLSC.
Thanks fo the shout-out bro and gratz

Many thanks Gloveguy.
Personally, I enjoy reading your posts, most recently I've seen you have some discussions in the Other Game forum about ESPN vs NBA Live and it's solely based on your arguments that I actually spend 4 Euro's to rent the PS2 version of ESPN. Personally I like EA's version more but to each their own I suppose. I won't try convincing you one is better than the other since all of us have our own tastes.
Anyways, I'm getting carried away.
Congratulations man & hope you stick around.
A beer on my tab.
(Andrew'll foot the bill as usual.)
Edit:
Oh, and this might sound stupid but what's this?
And on my last note -- Obama '08.

Hey, thanks.
I remember you posting on the old forums, yeah. You appeared before or almost at the same time as me.
I really respect you & your posts, and it's good to have you around.
Times have changed, our paths are different (I never really talked to you on those MSN, ICQ, AIM stuff), still I like to read your posts.

Barack Obama is the Senator for Illinois. He made his scene at the Democratic Convention. He IS a purple politician -- as opposed to red or blue. He will be the first minority president of the United States and will put the Dems back on top. Watch. It most likely won't be 2008 though, so I should change that. But I won't...
Here's an article from Newsweek if you're even more curious: 'The Audacity of Hope'
And thanks to those who gave their congrats. Much appreciated.

That's right, it Matthew. I don't usually give credit on shoutout posts, but congratulations. You don't spam, and always bring a different point of view to the table. Of course we argue, but I respect your opinion back otherwise I wouldnt bother responding to your posts

. Keep up the good work and continue cheering for your Red Sox..

Thanks for the shoutout, and congrats on 1000!

Even though I'm more willing to weigh in with more in-depth thoughts about the current NBA now that I get to see at least one live game per week, I'm always up for topics about the last decade.

Kudos.
