More secure forum

Do you guys know how I/the site administrator could make a forum a little bit more secure? We are a sim league and 2 gm's that weren't active got fired, then they came back and hacked the site, which deleted every post. Now someone is hacking users. The hacker posed as a gm and actually wrote up a press release(which is weird since it seems people are too lazy to do them in our league). Now the commish/administrator said he's going to be away for a couple of days and came back early. I tried to talk to him on YM before he left and he said some weird stuff and told me that he was drunk later. Now me and another guy are skeptical and wondering if he's being hacked.

Any ideas on how to secure forum.

Which version? Perhaps updating to the current version (2.0.10) would help, as I know phpBB has released some updates that are mainly security fixes.

deleting all the posts is really simple if they have admin rights to the forum. All they have to do is go to Pruning and then delete all they want.
If they aren't admins, then upgrading to the latest version & check and see if this is a problem for anyone else @ phpbb.com might be the best answers.

When the site is updated to the newest version that always helps because they always include the newest secruity measures but just in case that don't work, what can you do? Download backup databases daily or however you want to so if the site does get all the posts removed then you can restore the database
