Demo is out on Steam (not sure about consoles), and after watching a gameplay video a couple weeks ago, I'm pretty much sold on the game. The demo is fairly short, but gives you a feel for the atmosphere and basic mission gameplay.
For those who don't know it's a turn based strategy game, you're the Commander of XCOM, humanities first and last line of defense against an alien invasion. Multiple enemy types, a smart AI, and loads of customization both in the XCOM base, and your operatives loadouts could make this for a truly unique game.
Perma-deaths seem like a great idea, apparently it's pretty easy to 'lose' the game just by letting the panic levels in each country get out of hand (which can be avoided by doing missions in the panicking countries). Controls and the interface are supposed to be top notch, I played with an xbox controller on PC and it worked flawlessly, while others have said mouse and keyboard are perfect too.
My only concern is playthrough length, and balance in length. Haven't seen much information about either, so I'll have to wait for reviews.
Anyone else planning on getting this? Not sure what type of multiplayer there is but I can imagine co-op missions being unreal. Definitely like the emphasis on cover and the overall simplicity/flexibility of the combat so far.
