Christmas, Holiday & New Year's Plans

Postby Andrew on Tue Dec 20, 2011 10:06 pm

Anyone got any special plans lined up for the holiday season?

I'll be spending Christmas day with family then meeting up with friends on Boxing Day to exchange Secret Santa gifts and enjoy a BBQ lunch and some drinks. Most of us will also be heading down to Sydney for New Year's Eve, since a couple of our friends there are throwing a party.

Christmas here at home with my father in law, travelling on Christmas day to visit (not stay, visit) the mother in law. Day after going to MA to see my parents, getting another 3D ultrasound (my present :D ) on Wednesday, then filthy work with my new hours on New Years (7a-7p Saturday, 7a-3p Sunday)

fun
Opinions are my own.

Both my wife & I come from split families so we got to see 4 sets of people for Xmas. We're splitting them over Xmas Eve & Xmas Day. Xmas Eve lunch with my wife's mother and her siblings. Xmas Dinner with wife's father and no doubt her siblings again. Xmas morning at my mum's and Xmas lunch at my dad's. Probably just call it a day after that and relax.

Plan to enjoy Boxing Day watching NBA. As for NYE, my wife & I are heading down to Gold Coast to watch NBL game against Tigers (no Patty Mills anymore, that's only unexpected downside but should still be good). We usually make effort to see one game per year, as we do we A-League.

My holidays start on Friday & got a couple of weeks off. Not really doing much. It's my first time off work since last Xmas so probably just try to relax. I've got yard work & stuff around the house to keep me busy also (N)

Hopefully 2K releases a more complete set of rosters so I can start a 14 game season Association in 2K.

I'll likely be able to catch Heat/Mavericks and Bulls/Lakers live, before I head out for the BBQ. The others I'll have to catch up on in the evening.

I am sick right now. Though I had the gifts for the family distributed already this early. Might as well just continue building the scale model that I have shelved for 2 weeks now.

Probably spend Christmas day with my family playing video games and watching the start of the NBA season. I hope to have picked up 2K12 by that time and spend the rest of the day trying that out.

The only thing that I have planned to do this Christmas is spending it with my family, getting gifts and all. Maybe I will do some movie and anime(heh) marathon after that and getting some time off the internet to think about things.

First two games are on ESPN, second two are on ESPN2 (I've posted the schedule over in the NBA on Aussie TV thread in NBA Talk) with replays in the afternoon/evening on ESPN. One HD isn't showing any NBA games this year, unfortunately.

Good, I'm able to record ESPN, but not One HD. Very keen for a great day of NBA!

I'm heading to Noosa on Christmas. Hopefully I'll get to see a little bit of the boxing day test (although I'll probably get vetoed on that one).

New Years is still open ended. My old housemate is having a party at his new place, so that's probably the leading candidate right now, but I'm kind of reluctant because he hangs out with a different crowd than I do and I always feel quite embarrassed when I get drunk around them.

My brother-in-law is working for second or third straight year on Xmas Day. Triple time I believe. He's happy since he's saving all the money he can for his upcoming Superbowl/US trip in late Jan/early Feb '12.

Nothing too crazy here. Xmas party with some of Ozgirl's friends friday night, xmas eve with my mom/dad/sister/broinlaw/grandma at my parents place (fried chicken for christmas dinner, gotta love the south), xmas day at Ozgirl's parents with her parents, aunt, and grandpa. So yeah should be pretty good. Relatively lowkey families make life easier.

I work christmas eve and Christmas day.. But I have sunday morning off so I can see the Knick game. As for New years, I work new years eve and new years day, so my plans are limited.

That's not too bad then, enjoy the game. (Y) Hopefully you're better compensated for working those holidays than Q apparently is. That still seems a bit sketchy to me.

Going to spend our first Xmas over at our new house. Nothing too crazy, just dinner with the in-laws.
No idea yet what we're doing for new year's eve, it's always a last minute type of thing with us.
