Three-eyed fish caught in Argentina

Life has imitated art in Argentina where fishermen have reportedly caught a three-eyed fish in an incident so almost identical to an episode of long-running cartoon show The Simpsons.

According to infobae.com, the fish was reeled in from a reservoir where water is pumped from a local nuclear plant in Córdoba, Argentina, last Thursday.

And just for fun, the discovery was made just a few days short of the 21st anniversary of that episode, which aired November 1st 1990.

I came here just for the Simpsons reference. And Andrew didn't disappoint.

It'll be interesting to see what they find out about the mutation, whether there is a link to the nuclear plant or simply a deformity like the occasional two-headed snake or turtle that's surfaced from time to time. I'm guessing it's the latter, though contamination from nuclear waste would be a concern in general, regardless of whether or not it's creating mutant fish.
