FIFA 12

So the demo came out and I had some fun with the new Impact Engine (basically Euphoria/Backbreaker lite)

this makes the game almost a must buy for me, the next Live needs to use this, even if it doesn't look perfect.

very impressive. very little clipping. i was really interested how it would look as soon as they released that teaser video touting the engine. the only bad instance of clipping was the Puyol clearance with the guy on the ground. all of the standing collisions are really good, but you could tell the ones involving one standing and one lying player were more difficult to do. it's not perfect, but it's really really good and compared to fifa 11 which had a lot of clipping during collisions, i'd say it's a huge improvement.

this could definitely be worked into Live where it could determine whether someone was fouled or not, or tipping the ball away from a ball handler or even tipping a loose ball

I'd rather Live have this tech and use it for injuries, fouls, goaltending, everything and have it be brutally "realistic" rather than, well, realistic. I'd rather have too many blocks in a game because of this tech, too many fouls, or too many injuries because hey, that's what happened, then trying to match the NBA's league average for those things.

Even though it looks awkward slowed down, all of these looked pretty good in real time.

I like that you can take throw-ins quickly now. It makes sense since they added taking free-kicks quickly a couple of years ago.

they need to make it so that the quick restarts on the free kicks happen automatically and you hit select or something if you want to wait and take it the traditional way. that seriously kills the momentum of the game for them to reset the game every time a foul happens

I despise soccer, but that engine is definitely pretty cool. I'd love to see 2k work on this but I know that's an issue with player specific animations.

so i finally played the demo today, and although its very similar to fifa 11, the collisions really shine in the game. it really makes the game look more real and the graphics look a bit better too

this is a must have if you have the PC demo

http://www.fifawebportal.net/demo-expan ... r-rain/120

10 min quarters, toughest difficulty, snow/rain options, love it.

Gave the demo a roll. Pretty good. I got a lot of use out of FIFA 10 but I can see physics are better. I'll probably give it a miss again only due to lack of time.

So, does FIFA 12 finally makes the PC version justice? Next gen graphics and modes? :|

The Nash commercials for FIFA 11 were the only reason I subscribed to EA's YouTube channel.

Just got the game. :D

First thing I did (after playing around in the arena for 5 minutes) was start a career mode game with Liverpool.
Looking at who to buy atm. Hulk is top of my list, but slightly too expensive.

Managed to sign him for €31m. Took nearly all of my budget but I think it was worth it. He's got 4 goals and 5 assists in 7 league games so far.
Oh and Stoke are apparently being taken over by 'wealthy foreign investors'. :o
