NLSC Re-Launched

Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

NLSC Re-Launched

Postby Andrew on Sat Aug 27, 2011 1:22 am

As you might have noticed, we've got a new header here in the NLSC Forum and the main site also has a new look:
http://www.nba-live.com

We're now running WordPress and it's integrated with the Forum user database, so you can use the same log-in to post comments on news bulletins and feature articles. With the launch of our new Downloads section, only the Wiki requires a separate log-in (and almost all of the articles are open to public editing anyway). We'll be looking to do a lot more feature articles and original content in addition to supporting the patching communities and of course, providing everyone with a discussion forum.

You may have also noticed that we're just going by NLSC now. Although we've still got all our NBA Live content and will continue to provide content for NBA Live players, it seemed time to re-brand with EA changing the name of their sim series and our expansion to cover NBA 2K and NBA Jam. We decided to stick with our initials for a sense of "brand recognition" without any explicit references to NBA Live, basically what entities such as KFC, ESPN and most recently WWE did.

Please consider the relaunch to be a public beta of sorts, we'll be fixing up any glitches as we encounter them and likely tweaking the design a bit further here and there. I hope most people do like it though and that it will grow on most others in time.

Any questions, comments, bug reports etc, please let us know. A huge thanks as always for your support!

And yet the URL is still nba-live.com?

Not a fan of the new banner being so dark. Doesn't really fit with the rest of the forum IMO.

Yes, our domain name is still nba-live.com. We will likely explore our options in that regard at some point in the future.

I am digging the new main page. The jersey texture as the background is a good idea. The logo not so much.Overall good job with the site.Since there is a new logo, does that mean Jao has to get a new tattoo?

We've changed the colour of the links in the news posts slightly so hopefully they stand out a little better. We'd welcome any constructive feedback in that area and of course if you run into any technical difficulties, please let us know so we can look into it.

Thanks, glad you like it. When you say not so much for the logo, do you mean the logo itself or the jersey texture in the banner header?

The new home site looks like a homepage of a gaming blog. (Y)

Love the jersey texture, don't prefer this logo to the old one. That one looked a lot more pro than this one, this just looks square. But it's no big, not like I visit for the graphics.

For some reason I liked the new logo of the Wiki more.

It's basically the same design as the one we're using on the banner, just slightly different colours. We're using that version on our Facebook and Twitter as well.

I actually liked the old logo better, you know with the basketball in the background. I think this one has more of a video game appearance; in other words, more like a video game website logo, which is a good thing. :)
