It took me some getting used to, too.

Anyone know how to slow down scrolling and get back the dotted line around hyperlinks that have been clicked on?

koberulz,

Go to Tools > Options, click the advanced tab, and select "Smooth scrolling",worked for me. :D

As for the dotted lines, I have no idea, seeing as I don't think i had those before the switch. :?

It's enabled. It used to scroll three lines at a time, now it seems to be scrolling five or six lines at a time, but they've taken that option out. And now it insists on pausing after every tab when scrolling through the tab bar, so that's painfully slow.

Taken in IE. That used to be the case in Firefox as well, but it's disappeared now that I've upgraded.

koberulz,

Go to your control panel, find mouse settings, and find where it says scroll this many lines and set it lower. If nothing else, this will work.

Fuck no, I've spent the last two days installing add-ons to make it usable. That's too much work to switch back. I've also not actually had a problem with it other than the radically different UI, and it has in fact fixed a problem I was having with another site.

Are YouTube videos loading horribly slowly for anyone else, or just me?

I've always had that problem with my slow-ass computer and my slow-ass internet connection, but it improved slightly when I turned off "Use hardware acceleration when available", under the "Advanced" tab in Internet Options.

Just upgraded to v4.0 and I actually like it so far. With 3.6, I was getting a lot of crashes and weird issues lately, but so far so good with 4.0. My toolbar on top has the bare minimum now, which I like, and the "Firefox" button with all the commands is pretty cool too.

Pretty much the same here. Once I installed a few addons and got used to where everything was, it was fine. Crashes less than the previous version, too.

Recently, I've actually got more crashes, but that's only when I load pages with a TON of stuff on them (like the "Your Song of the Day" thread), otherwise, great.

The only thing that bugs me is that it hangs upon closing it. It takes a couple of minutes to fully close and you have to kill the process manually if you're in a rush. But it was actually doing it with 3.6 too, not sure sure why. I know I can just run Firefox in safe mode to avoid that but it's annoying as hell.

Firefoxpera. Works for me though, I was using Opera previously and didn't want to switch because I liked the way it looks. Now Firefox looks identical to it, so win-win.

Google "Firefox hangs" or "won't close properly" and you'll see it's far from being an isolated issue. It seems to be related to specific add-ons.

But then it's not really a Firefox issue per se.
