Sim league for different game?

Postby .jrmagic on Mon Apr 06, 2009 2:24 am

Couldn't find a good place to post this, but since it has to do with a different game, I'll post it here. :P

I'm trying to set up a "sim league" for a different PC game I have, but I have idea how to simulate the game(s). Is there any sort of (fair) way I can simulate a game? Maybe a little more advanced than flipping a coin. Thanks...

That's irrelevant, but if you want to know it's actually an online game.

Well, it's virtually impossible to suggest a solution without knowing what you're working with.

As it is I'm not sure how you'd fairly simulate an online multiplayer shoot 'em up but I suppose you need something that will randomly generate results. Even if it doesn't directly apply to the game (ie a random number generator), you could assign certain results (in this example, specific numbers or a range of numbers) to each of the participants so that when those results come up, a certain player gets a kill. You could repeat that a set number of times to represent one game/round and post the results accordingly.

Otherwise, drawing names out of a hat repeatedly or some system that relies on rolling dice might work in getting results that you have less influence over.

That should work, I'll look around. Thanks. (Y)
