Upcoming albums from Cormega and Immortal Technique are all I'm waiting for. Hell, I've been waiting for them drop for years now. As for other artists, I don't even know who's coming out when...so I don't know.

I talk like this in real life too, but then again, most regular people do.

You actually say things like "I'm waiting for Kanye to drop his."? You actually say that.

Okay, carry on...

Oh yeah, I forgot.

New ISIS album is on the horizon. I hope they return to their older sound. In the Absence of Truth was kind of a letdown.

Wutt????
The last two records are phenomenal, I'm not a big fan of their earlier stuff, mostly because Aaron's voice sounded like shit then. Now he can sing fairly well and growl even better.

I love his psychotic vocals from the early days. All of their stuff is amazing though and I'm glad that they're experimenting and progressing. Their heavier stuff just does wonders for me is all I'm saying.

Didn't mean to insult your tastes Gundy

If you like ISIS, have you listened to Intronaut? It's a bit more straight-forward in the metal approach, less atmospheric than ISIS, but it's one of the most impressive metal acts I've ever heard. Possibly the best drummer and bassist ever...
I'd also recommend The Ocean - Precambrian.

I've heard Intronaut and they are damn good from a technical standpoint. Haven't really delved further other than Void though. I've head The Ocean's Precambrain too and it's pretty amazing. It was a bit much to swallow the first time around, they've got a lot of stuff going on.

Also Gundy, check out Rosetta if you haven't already. Heavy as fuck is a euphemism in their case.

"Merriweather Post Pavilion" and "Tonight: Franz Ferdinand", two of the biggest 09 albums are already out, so there isn't as much to look forward to this year. However, new albums by WIlco, Manic Street Preachers, Kanye West (if it ends up coming out) and Peter, Bjorn and John are intriguing prospects.

Additionally, anything new by LCD Soundsystem, Interpol or Blur would be awesome.

Hey Lamrock, just heard Blur are reuniting for a concert in Hyde Park this summer and they're also participating at this year's Oxegen. Too bad it's all sold out lol. But that means they could get to write new material, which sounds very good...

On a different note, anyone know if the Creed reunion is gonna materialize after all? I'm dying for some new stuff from them...

by Creed you mean the great band that descended into shit at the hands of Scott Stapp and company going "We're not christian, we're just spiritual LULZ!!!"? I thought you had better taste than that: new stuff from them is going to sound like their last album: utter complete crap.

My Own Prison=Epic
Human Clay=Decent
Weathered=the day i realized music was on its deathbed was when i heard that this album was the same people who had done the 1st two.

As for new music, like many others im waiting on the new eminem and the long awaited dre detox...but if the eminem single out now is any semblance of how the rest is going to be: im not impressed.

Wait. We're discussing Creed in this thread now? (Ignoring that the guitar part on that one song with the video set in the desert is pretty good.)

Anyway. Thursday and AFI are all I remember planned for this year. I don't really pay attention to music anymore, it's more or less randomly hitting up the wikipedia and finding out something new is out. It's what happened to Oasis and so many others this last year.

Oh, and I was very disappointed by Thursday's leak. The one band I'm assured of buying albums from. I'm actually waiting for a high quality rip unlike City By The Light Divided which is pure brilliance.

And everyone in this thread objectively sucks. Because there's no such thing as right or wrong, only agreeing with me and lying.

I thought both My Own Prison and Human Clay were both very good albums... I agree Weatherbed is utter shit but I still think of them as a pretty decent band. Then again, I love post-grunge while everyone else seems to think it's crap for no apparent reason...

And hey, Weezer's hasn't pulled anything remotely hearable since Pinkerton and people still think of them as a good band. Same with the Foo Fighters (I don't consider anything they did after TINLTL to be their music,) Pearl Jam (after Vitalogy,) Oasis (after Heathen Chemistry) and lots of other bands.
