Screenshots with Vista

Postby Leander on Tue Nov 11, 2008 5:58 am

Is it possible that screenshots taken with "print screen" look different than screens taken with WinXP?

I play a game (Live 2005 or 2K9) and press on print screen. I paste it into Paint and save it as a jpeg. When I open it with Windows explorer the colors look different than the actual colors in the game.
The colors did not differ in WinXP.

Are there issues with print screen in Vista?

Do the colors look different after you save it, or when you past it into paint?
Paint saves jpegs in a very low quality, try saving it with another program.

or try saving it in PNG format. it will increase the file size, but i think it's still ok compared to the images' size when saved as BMP.

No, the colors only look slightly different after saving.

Maybe I should install my Corel Suite on my girlfriend's new PC.

Or do you know good screenshot tools? Game Photographer 2 looks good but I haven't tested it with Vista yet.
