Quantum of Solace.

Al Pacino is set to play James Bond's nemesis in the new 007 spy movie 'Quantum of Solace'.

The legendary actor is believed to be making an appearance as the head of the terrorist group in the latest instalment of the British spy franchise.

A source revealed: "Al Pacino has been approached about playing a Bond bad guy. It will be a brief but extremely important role. Movie bosses are hoping he will be the best Bond villain yet."

Pacino is expected to film his scenes at London's Pinewood Studios in April or May.

In the movie, starring Daniel Craig as the British super spy, Bond is hunting down the terrorists responsible for the death of his love Vesper Lynd.

Pacino, 67, will follow in the footsteps of stars including Christopher Walken, Christopher Lee and Robert Carlyle who have all portrayed a Bond nemesis.

Earlier this month, it was claimed Amy Winehouse was set to write and perform the theme tune for the hotly-anticipated film.

The movie - based on the books of author Ian Fleming - is to be released on November 7, 2008.

I never thought I'd look forward to a Bond movie, atleast not after watching the ones of Pierce Brosnan. The last Bond movie really got my interest and I was already looking forward to Quantum of Solace...add Pacino in to the mix and it's one of my most awaited movies. It took up spot number two right behind The Dark Knight. I'd love to see Pacino be the bad guy. I do hope that they incorporate Eva Green in some way, even if it's a little flashback.

Well here it is fellows, a brand new Bond flick with some more major ass kicking from Daniel Craig...

I can't wait to watch this movie. This movie is the reason I wasn't too fast to say TDK is/was the best movie of 2008. I'm sure hoping it is though.

Mad as it may seem, I think I'll wait and catch this one on DVD. I wasn't as big a fan of Casino Royale as everyone else seemed to be.

This one isn't supposed to be anything like Casino Royale. Only an hour and 45 minutes long, and just endless action.

Which is why I'd be waiting on it. Best part of Casino Royale was the poker match, and the ending scene.

I read it's been shot a la the last Bourne. That's a major turn off for me in regards to the film. Seriously. I hated all that jerky hand movement shit, I didn't expect Bond to go that route. Fuckin shit.

I loved Casino Royale. Not too optimistic about this one after the whole camera spasm bit of information though. God damn it.

Oh well, atleast TDK still rocks my socks. Nolan ftw.

I wasn't a big fan of the Bourne movies either. I think I've just soured on the genre over the years.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Bourne series...the new James Bond too.

Violence and me are friends.

Shakey camera effects "to make you feel in the mix of things" however, not so much. It just irritates. :x

I watched it last weekend. Being a non-Bond fan, I don't see what the fuss was about. And yeah, the shaky camera was very annoying.

Ditto. The last Bourne went all Blair Witch Project. Not a big fan...

Caught it last weekend too, didn't think much of it. I expected a lot more.

I had it on the scale of TDK, alas...it wasn't even remotely close. Oh well...

Better luck next time.
