He was only 28. :?

I look forward to his much talked about joker role. The movie is bound to pull in more money cause of this.

Shocking. He looked brilliant as the Joker in the trailers. Would like to know how he died in the upcoming hours...

Condolences to his loved ones.

From the report I read, there were pills strewn all over the apartment. Damn, what went wrong with this cat?

RIP i will say that up front but let me also add why i believe this seems to happen more in hollywood than in everyday life (which could be completely untrue, unsure of the stats). But lets put it this way: every day, all day, you play someone else. You get into the character you are meant to play for a few months. move on. The sign of a great actor is you forget they're acting. They BECOME the character. Do you really think you can switch identities that often and be sane? I'd believe the answer would be no way in hell. But yeah...

Wow... I've never really been all that impressed by actors, Ledger's one of the first guys I've watched that made me realize that acting is more than just reading some lines. What a shame.

Wtfffffff? MY JOKERRRR!

Damn man, he was only 28 and a really good actor. Him with the crop of guys like Damon, Caprio, Bale etc would be the people you talk about like how you talk about DeNiro and Pacino. Sucks man, may he RIP.

Wow.

That was my first reaction when I read that a couple hours ago. I couldn't believe it at first, so I checked a couple of celebrity blogs to read more about it. It fucking sucks, he was such a good actor. RIP.

When I first heard the news, which mentioned the presence of prescription drugs, my first thought was that he must have taken his life. However, I caught a bit of A Current Affair and the assertion seems to be that his death was an accident. Whatever the case may be, it doesn't change the fact that a 28 year old man is gone and the loss that his family and friends must be feeling, nor the fact his daughter will grow up without knowing her father or likely remembering him.

Rest in Peace.

This is sad. Quite shocking to be exact.

Hollywood lost a great actor. RIP.

Did he finish all of his Joker scenes or will they need to recast someone?

I'm a bit with Jae here, there aren't many actors with that something special, but Heath Ledger seemed to have it, & he would've no doubt gone onto greater things....

sad for his family, his ex & most of all his little daughter, who will never see her Daddy again....

RIP

They just finished the movie, so there's no need to recast anyone unless something pops up in editing which will probably be done with a stunt double.

Westboro Baptist Church are going to picket at Heath's Memorial Service, because he once portrayed a gay cowboy. These cunts honestly make me sick to my stomach.

Everyone's entitled to their beliefs but funerals and memorial services, where friends and family are paying their respects, are hardly the place for such demonstrations.

Some people still don't know that characters the actors portray doesn't represent an entire community, or the personality of the actor itself. Not a good way to show respect.

Anyway, Heath will be remembered. And I know he did a good job being the Joker.

RIP.
