MVP Baseball 2005 (08) dynasty: Decision made!

Postby jonthefon on Tue Jan 15, 2008 11:05 am

Oh look, it's time for me to make myself an MVP Baseball 2005 dynasty. The 08 mod probably won't come out for a while (been delayed) so right now, I'm deciding which team to use and maybe doing a little spring training run. From a list:

Astros (self-explanatory: playing with a booming offense but a shitty, shitty staff)

Orioles (trade with Astros gave them some prospects to fill up: challenging)

Padres (solid rotation, solid batting lineup)

Blue Jays (starting up fresh: can the whole roster and especially Vernon Wells lift? New faces from Cards forming solid left side)

White Sox (bouncing back from 07)

Rangers (taking over an organisation with plenty of upside: also challenging)

Phillies (big offence led by Utley and Howard, nice pitching rotation and closing games with the shaky Lidge :D)

Let's see...I'd like to see something challenging, and not a 162 game win streak, so I guess the Orioles and the Rangers? But something like the Jays or the Padres will be fine, too. Had enough of Houston, don't you think?

Holy crap, I was thinking "If I do play as the Rangers, maybe I'll sign Jason Jennings (hey, he's still rated okay in the game and Texas needs better pitching) if he's still around by the start of the season rosters".

Then I go to mlb.com, and find that he's just been signed by the Rangers.

Do the Rangers, then. It's a sign. You and the Rangers' GM are on the same wavelength.

Okay, I'll play exhibition games to start with...need to wait for a roster that deletes Clemens

Nah...their lineup is too boring...Cain, Zito, Lincecum might form a decent rotation though.

EDIT: Looks like I've hit a snag. MVPMods.com's boxscore uploader is doing weird things and not letting me even log in, despite my typing of a password and registering. I need a good file hosting website, or I might have to make a dodgy Geocities or Freewebs site to host it.

...or the Yankees and BoSox, well not the Sox. Never.

What do you need to host? The boxscore?
