has anyone else had trouble with firefox deleting bookmarks at random intervals? i just lost all 30-40 of mine, luckily i'd emailed them to myself a week ago to transfer to anotehr computer, so i coudl reimport them.
its happened to me several times though. anyone else have this issue?

Yeah it happens around every 5 or 6 months for me, I just save my bookmarks every 2 weeks or so now.

can someone point me to the direction as to where they are located? I searched all over and cant find them. Or do i just have to list all the addressed somewhere manually?

Manage bookmarks, then File -> Export.
Not sure if the options are named exactly like that because I got the dutch version.
