Job question

Postby Riot on Thu Jun 22, 2006 11:49 am

I'm going in for a job interview tomorrow morning at Toys R Us as a sales associate. It sounds like an okay job but they treat you like shit. The job is pretty straight forward though and I get to learn great interaction with the public and working as a team. However...

Well, my dad just got off the phone with a friend of his who is starting up a new buisness. He is starting basically a "pet taxi" where he delivers animals from the owners house to a petsitters house and then back. I basically just drive animals around. He says I could do that. My only problem is I don't quite know that area very well so finding the houses would be difficult. I'm pretty good with animals (I have 3: a dog and two cats) but getting a large dog into a cage seems like a tough task. He said I would about $8-10 an hour for doing it and I'd work mostly evenings. I sent him an e-mail about some questions I have like how to find houses and if the job is seasonal or year round.

What do you guys think about this gig? It sounds pretty cool. My only concern is, like I said, being able to find the houses. Any ideas? I thought about a laptop in there and having mapquest on but wireless internet doesn't work outside of my home. Bummer.

So I have two questions...

1. What job should I go after the hardest? Why?

2. What do I do about not being able to find the houses?

1. Option number two, simply because of the pay. At least you're gonna be making $2-4 dollars more than you would be making at Toys R Us.

2. Print out the Map Quest, then take it in the car. And of course, there's always gas stations.

The second job apparently would only be a few times a week so I would have to get another job, too. So I might work at Toys R Us and this job. I would be bringing in a lot of dough!

Option C: Go around asking people if they need their lawn mowed! Get $10-20 a lawn. You'll rake in the dough, and it'll help you get in shape for the army :)

But then occasionally you get the asshole who says, "What, I have to pay?"

Toys 'R Us by far. The other one sounds like alot of trouble and effort for an extra few dollars per hour. Not sure if I particularly trust you around kids  jk but I think that's your best bet.
