It appears that the Minnesota state government is FINALLY going to pass a bill that will give the Minnesota Twins a new stadium. The Twins have been trying to get a new stadium since 1996 and it's about damn time that they get an outdoor stadium. It's been a close vote for most of the sessions and it's been an extremely long process but the bill is at Gov. Tim Pawlenty's desk right now and all he has to do is sign it and then send it back to Hennepin County Committee for one final vote. I'm so excited that outdoor baseball will be back in Minnesota!
The Minnesota Golden Gophers (University of Minnesota football team) also got a new stadium on campus and that was past just a day or two ago, too. The Vikings new stadium plan got rejected but hopefully they can get it to pass next year. Getting 2/3 in Minnesota isn't bad at all.
After this whole process I just want to say that I offically hate Minnesota politics. They are all douchebags. Especially Mr. Kelley and Mr. Pogemiller who I hate with a passion after this stadium process.
You know what else is funny? To help pay for the stadium they are putting a 1.5% sales tax on certain items in Hennepin County. Which means if you buy something for $20 it will cost you 3 cents more. Douchebags were actually protesting because they thought the sales tax is horrible and they shouldn't have to pay for the stadium. Are you serious? You can't pay 3 cents more? After they were done making fools out of themselves they probably drove home in their SUV's, sat on their lazyboy's and watched cable TV. It pisses me off.
