I don't recall a thread about this game and I just got it today at a whopping $18 USD (I love ebay).
I feel that gameplay is great, fast-paced and loading times are decent to tolerable. read: not NBA Live load times.
however, the time reading the memory cards for saving on the frontend menus are ridiculous.
for those of you (like me) that fell in love with the old-school NFL Blitz series will still feel that the game captures the spirit of Blitz even without big NFL stars. The playbook is as deep as ever, and injuries are pretty cool (players can get injured for # of plays, quarters, or games).
The Story mode is okay, with some horrible writing (obviously, writing is not one of Midway's strong points) but it does allow the drafting of a few players, and choosing between certain coaches & playing styles. They have made up for it in fun features never found in other football games such as betting on your games, VERY scantily-clad cheerleaders (I don't even know why they even bothered with the skirts), encouragement of and rampant use of "juice" (Barry, Barry, Barry...), and also create-a-team & (partially) a create-a-cheerleader mode.
oh and there's plenty of unlockables (including big head mode for you old-school Blitz & NBA JAMers) to keep you playing for a while...
If I think of something else to say, I'll add it later.
