Unfortunate change in Forum Policy

Postby Andrew on Mon Apr 03, 2006 8:42 pm

Unfortunately due to a persistent patch thief who doesn't seem to be able to take the hint, refuses to abide by the forum rules and likes to find ways of circumventing the ban control, I have regrettably been forced to once again change the activation on new accounts to being admin approved. I'm not all that happy about that because it means more work for me but since this pest insists on flaunting the rules, I really have no choice but to change it for the interim.

I apologise to the honest people that this inconveniences, hopefully this is just a temporary arrangement. You can blame our friend the patch thief who is slow on the uptake.

Andrew, couldn't you just request some of the NLSC's resident hackers or script kiddies to waste that fool?

I don't mind this change really, but how can he re-register if his IP is banned? :?

He's exploiting loopholes. Maybe registering with different PC's (going to internet cafes), using proxies perhaps?

Do all the tricks to keep this guy off. Flood his e-mail with porn, send him a virus, worm, trojan disguised as a patch. Have Jugs come into his home and whoop his ass. Use Jae's mafia connections to have that guy sleep with the fishes. Do it all until he gets the message.

That's odd, I'm sure it's set to admin approve. I'll double-check.

EDIT: Yes, definitely set to admin approve. Very odd.

EDIT #2: No, it is working. He can sign up but unless I activate the account he can't do anything with it. If he's signed up with any other accounts (as it appears he has done), they'll be deactivated as well if and when they surface. Jae's taken care of a few of them.

That's right. He's signed up but inactive unless I let him back. So he can register as many accounts as he wants, but I can delete them before he can ever post.

Just a note to anyone who's signed up recently, looks like we've been having a bit of trouble with the activation notices that get sent to the admin email, so if you're still waiting on activation please email me and I'll take care of it. Apologies for the inconvenience, hopefully we won't have to take these measures for too much longer.
