Postby olrayt on Tue Mar 28, 2006 11:45 am

i was just readin the book "rich dad poor dad" by robert kiyosaki. in one part of teh book, a millionaire professional basketball player lost all his money in less than a year and was fired from a car wash because he refused to remove his championship ring.

who was this basketball player? (and yes, i'm asking) :D

It's probably not him, but that story could fit Isaiah Rider.

One, with the Lakers in 2001. He wasn't on the playoff roster though.

I know, that's why I suggested him in the first place. I was just mentioning the fact he wasn't on the playoff roster, which is why it's easy to forget he did get a ring.

Kenny Anderson pops to mind, though I'm sure he didn't win a ring. I just remembered the comment he made during the lockout that he couldn't afford to keep all seven of his cars or something.

Oh that reminds me, there's this show I heard about called Till Debt Do Us Part, where these rich couples who make $200 000 a year had to pay off a $500 000 debt, so they had to learn how to go on a budget and be able to pay off that debt :shake:

Nah, he didn't win a ring. Everything else would seem to fit though.

or maybe the author just made up the story to prove a point.

but if it's true, that would be something...

Could be I suppose, but then if it was hypothetical he'd probably conjure up a name. It's probably someone fairly obscure, perhaps not even someone from recent times. Can't shake the Rider parallel though. ;)

Maybe it's someone that's a close friend of Charles Oakley or Tim Hardaway because those players have a carwash business. :eh:
