ADSL2

Postby Fitzy on Fri Mar 24, 2006 9:20 pm

We are looking at changing our ISP, and maybe going from normal ADSL to ADSL2.
Is there anything that we will need to get it or anything i should know about it?

ADSL2 isn't available in a lot of areas (not mine) I looked into it a few months ago, so thats definetely something for you to look out for.

I've read that it's pretty unstable. Check out Whirlpool forums, they have shit loads of ADSL info for Australia.

If you're planning on getting one of those 2.4Mbit, you might not be able to get all of it due to your current modem restrictions. So a good idea would be to check if your current modem can handle that high speeds; or if you'd have to get a ADSL2 modem instead, and how much one of those would cost in that case..

yeah the ADSL modems only allow 1.5Mbit through cause of some restriction by Tesltra but its possible to get 8Mbit, but ill order a ADSL2+ modem when we get it
