well the pic is good but there needs to be more in the bkgrnd. looks plain with just all-black and the texts are too close together other than that looks good

The title is borung looking, the pic is good, the bg is boring and the titles of the articles couldnt attract a retard who cant read..sry i dont like it..

I suggest you drop the yellow box. and change the font to something bold and solid and an attracting color e.g. red, orange, yellow. that's what most magazines use to attract attention on the newstands. the text should be readable from afar. and the picture should be in the middle as well. maybe make it bigger.

I suggest you do research on basketball magazine covers, especially older versions of SLAM. Compare and contrast the differences between yours and SLAM and you'll be able to pick up what you're missing and what you're doing wrong. For example, the text should be aligned flush right, not aligned in the middle.
