Should I play it?

NBA Action '98 (SEGA Sports)

I recently found a copy of this game while going through the attic and was wondering if anyone else has this game.

Also does anybody have any patches for it? Like an updated roster

I have a roster somewhere, but it's from 1998 I think. This game is pretty good considering. It plays a lot like the 2K series (which would make sense, seeing as Visual Concepts made it)

I also have an roster editor for it, if you'd really like me to I can upload it to nbalive.org.

Yeah, that would be great! :D
and could you upload that roster if you have it

I think this game has some better attributes to it than EA's Live Series

Yeah, u should get it. Me and cousins n' friends use to play hours of this game.

Let me give u some facts.

Jordan isn't on the game because this is when he was still not licensed to the NBA.

The game has the rosters from the 97-98 season.

This game actually recieved better reviews that NBA Live 98 at the time.

The graphics might be a lil bit dissappointing due to the phony 3-D graphics on the Saturn.

I'm sorry to say, but u can't play multiple seasons.

You can trade, sign, and release players.

You can't create a team. (thats bad)

No legends teams or players.

The game does play like the NBA 2K series, but it's slow and sluggesh.

I used to love playing this game,
wasn't there a player on the bulls team that looked and played like MJ but was under another name? :)

Yeah, BULLS PLAYER or something like that, who also happened to lead the league in scoring with 29.6 ppg in 1996/97. Much like the ROSTERSG player in some of the earlier NBA Lives.

That's right. I only had the demo, which allowed you to play half a game of Bulls vs Jazz.
