Signature Size

Postby Donatello on Fri Nov 12, 2004 12:09 pm

I'm sure this has been discussed, but I dug through in the 'search' option for quite a while and couldn't find anything on it.

May I perhaps start a petition that we decrease the maximum size for signatures? I'm sure I'm not the only one who is slightly annoyed by the abundancy of HUGE signatures. If anyone agrees and would like this rule amended, please reply. If I am totally off base and deserve to be shot, hanged, disembowled, and quartered, then I would like KFC Chicken Strips with plenty of honey mustard for my last meal.

I think the signature rules should be amended also. Like that one person with the fat ass in his sig. It's not only a disgustingly ugly ass full of cellulite, it's right there in your face.

Anyways, I think the signature witdh & height limits should be amended. Perhaps the text limit too. (Old School Fool...) :x

yeah, i don't want to offend anyone, because i happen to like these three guys ALOT, and consider them friends. but jae, qballer, and the_future all have HUGE sigs that kind of (really) annoy me. everyone has their preferences, and i'm not saying anyone is 'dumb' or something for wanting a big signature, but those of us who have a preference more towards discussion and being able to navigate the boards fluidly deserve the chance to do so without a huge signature in our way.

*dodges tomatoes* I really don't want to offend anyone. Sorry if I have.

I'll remove mine until I think of something better, but be fair, it's nowhere near as big as qballer's... and The Future's meets all of the sig limit requirements, the only thing that makes it bigger is the text underneath it.

wow thanks jae...i feel guilty somehow, but thanks. yeah i know that it meets the requirements now, i just feel that it might be too big. i don't think you should just listen to me bitching though- i want to make sure that a majority of people agree.

I'm a bad leader, I guess.

I agree about the sigs, they've pissed me off since people like homer would change them every 3 hours. Even if it's slightly big it's ok as long as I don't have to load a new sig all the time.

Hehe actually Stevan and I used to have discussions about how much we hated people with sigs etc etc, until I moved to the dark side and got one of my own

Edit: Changed my sig now, I think it's a better size but if anyone has issues with it (apart from the fact that it contains the Lakers logo), let me know

Common sense would tell you not to make your sig longer in how tall it was than width.

No way, you get bread and water just like the rest of the victims/posters.

I don't mind amending the signature size rules. What would be some reasonable restrictions? The current restrictions are 600 wide by 250 high, no animated gifs (exceptions made if they're 5-10 kB such as the team flags, as they generally load quickly) and one image. Let me know your suggestions for numbers so we discuss them and agree on the best changes. (Y)

Yeah I thought I'd deleted the "dunk" avatar from my computer, funnily enough I didn't :D. I made my sig, it's a bit schizophrenic so I'm not sure what that says about me :?

As far as sig sizes go, as long as mine is legal I don't care because I'm not resizing it :x

hey andrew, when you have time, don't forget to add the "disable other's posters sig" mod! :) THAT would be a great feature :)

if such a thing exists, that would be a nice option- does it allow you to pick and choose, or just 'ignore all'-- because i enjoy the sigs that are of a sane size. (dorna, or "banner" size, i think is most appropriate)

honestly...i think if you sig is longer than the posts you make, there's a problem...and your sig is like the size of a large paragraph and then some. i know i'm a picky little bitch though so don't take offense- your sig isn't the kind of thing i was complaining about by making this post- it's the HUGE ones that are really distracting

No, your signature isn't annoying.

The thing is some other people tend to use the rules to their own advantage & make huge ass sigs that are really huge.

Perfect Example.

I mean, what are you thinking? Sure, you love the guy but keep the love to yourself or if you're so hell bent on sharing with us atleast minimize the size. I really hate that guys' sigs. :x

No, it disables everyone's sigs. I use it on nbalive.org and damn, thanks to this feature the forum is a pleasure to browse :) No more finger sprains because of endless scrollings

400x80 sounds good to me... (y)

Another option for moderators could be to temporarely take away a users avtar or signature for a certain user. I think that would be a nice adition...
