I certainly remember it, and I know it's been brought up a couple of times by returning veterans. There was actually a thread not long ago, "Digging up the past" with a few references and discussions about some of the old themes, jokes and classic topics.

It's the n00bs -- Homer, LankyMan, Riot...we don't like them.

Plus, the black and white days had some real good posters such as El Guapo, who would add titles to every paragraph he did. It was quite odd, yet quite insightful. Ben, who's at .org now, was also around with his 3,000+ posts. He was a mod and thought he was the shit. I never thought he was.

I don't consider myself as "a vet", but the time that I was on the board to the time I got banned was better than anything we've had recently.

all this reviving feels like this is the nlsc's version of vh1's i love the 80's.
i'm not knocking this grave digging at all- just like the 80's, the black, white, and blue forum era was an unique era so to speak and it's fun to occasionally to reminisce

haha tales was telling me the other day he feels like one of the 80+ dudes you speak of. and if the 'vets' keep on reviving old thread, the vets will continue to be looked at as dinosaurs by the noobs

That's the idea. Also, if we're 80+ then Tales would be about 60, he showed up pretty late in the game.

I'm all for nostalgia and we've certainly seen some excellent posters drift into "retirement", but at the same time, if all we do is look back and talk about how the old days were much better, we're not putting the effort into making the current forum better.

Let's not deny the fun we had in the old forum, but let's not deny the current forum and newer members the chance to build something special, a fun place to post with good discussion. But I think bringing up some of these old topics is a great, too. (Y)

Nobody mentioned me yet, I can be very annoying :?
The only reason I posted this is to see what kind of response I get.
