Ricky Williams Retires...

Postby Kenyon_Martin on Mon Jul 26, 2004 11:49 am

Ricky Williams of the Dolphins has retired! I mean he was a great RB and he was only 27 or somewhere around there!

People say he retired because he has Social-Anxiety Disorder but he hasnt annonced the real reason...anybody have more info?

Freaktown wrote:Well Eddie is a fine HB. He was great back in the day. But he is not fast enough for main offensive guy now. i still cant believe Ricky retired.Miami has became an only defence team.

Edit:just saw the news. Eddie George signed for Dallas. Eddie headed to Dallas

That happened on Saturday or Friday. Wahooooo for Dallas! (I'm a cowboys fan)

Now they think Ricky's retirement could have something to do with Marajuana.

When he use to play with the Saints he was diagnosed with an Anxiety disorder. This caused him a lot of trouble when it came time to talk to the media, interviews, etc. So he had to take some pretty heavy medications to control it. You can tell hes still not comfortable talking with the media etc because he talks really quiet and wears his helmet during interviews. If all the media caused him such a huge stress that he needed to be heavily medicated and he still didnt feel comfortable I dont blame him for retiring cause I wouldnt want to continue living my life that way either.

All I have to say is: GOOD FOR RICKY. He has made enough money to live in luxury (albeit not much) doing the things he loves. According to SportsCenter, he'll probably climb some mountains in Australia (look out, aussies) spend time with his kids, move to Jamaica, and smoke lots of reefer. (yes, even that was on SC) I envy him. He can give up his job at the age of 27 and go off and do what he always wanted to do. Live a care-free life. Not many can say that. I wish thee well, Rick.

Ricky Williams is the smartest football player ever to live. I've always said to myself, if i were ever playing a sport professionaly (hah, yah right) that were to effect my health what so ever, i'd make enough money to live an awesome life, and get the hell out. I mean look at boxers who make shit loads of money, but get thier heads bashed in...Williams now has good health, shit loads of money, and all the free time in the world. From what i hear, he loves to smoke that weed, and pretty much decided he'd rather smoke weed and do what ever he'd like such as seeing the world and such, then play football and get the shit hit outa him, and take a big hit from the media after he got busted for smoking weed by the NFL (which was bound to happen).
