FarCry

Postby Andreas Dahl on Mon Apr 05, 2004 1:41 am

Does anyone have this great game exept for me?

The game is quite amazing:
The graphic/detail is stunning,
The sound is awsome and
The gameplay is great.

I resized the images from 1600px to 700px. And didn't sharpen any.
I also lowerd the detail when saving them.
That's the reason the images doesn't do the game good..

but the game definately looks amazing, even though i could not play it... the grass, the water... stunning.

In terms of graphics i think Doom3 might give Farcry a run for its money. I have only played the unofficial 2nd release of the beta, which is very sketchy and has alot of missing textures that the final release will feature(graphical)!

I now run FARCRY Maxed(and i mean everything) 2xAF @ 1280x1024 with a constant 30fps. I still play it all the time, completed the game on Evewry setting except Realistic which is almost imposiible on some maps

edit Andreas Dahl-did you take those SS? If you did are you playing with scripts or a trainer or sumink. MP5 has a max of 30/300 rounds :D

i think the game is out of point from the things written on the back and from the pictures i see...it seems like its 1 man destroying a whole freaking army or smtH?...and i think the graphic look cartoonish...i mean..the graphic are nice.o..but..the colour i think is too too too rich..

You read the back of the box and you make statements about your opinion based on this
LOL, Obviousley you have not played it! Theres nothing cartoonish about Farcry, except the render mode which is obviously what you must have seen!

the graphics are not cartoonish and it's a very fun game. there are lots of games where you're 1 man and destroying a whole "freaking army"...first one that pops into my head is Medal of Honor: Allied Assault.

The whole Genre is basicaly 1 vs MANY    You have Val who fights along side you during a couple of maps. Also during the 2nd half of the game the Mercs are fighting the Trigens who in turn are also attacking you! The game is not 1 VS Army, some BS i dont know where u got that idea. The detection system i based on Movement & sound and the whole game completely relies on the element of surprise and stealth, forget Splintercell, thats for NOOBS! You wont find a more realistic game anywhere. The AI scripting is supreme, nothing comes close to it and wont do for some time and that includes Doom3 & HL2! Doom3 final will probably look better, but you need a fucking animal PC with a Dual GPU. It will not beat Farcry in terms of Gameplay, i know this because i have played it, get ready for a boring Fragfest(Doom3)!
You need to go upgrade your comp then play the game mate, why are you even commenting when you know nothing about it :?: :?:

"Brothers in Arms" has a new type of AI scripting so im hoping this will be a good game!

I've had this game sitting on my desk for about a month or so now but I didn't really get to play it until yesterday morning. Even though my computer isn't really upto the recommended system specs, I could play it with all details at medium at pretty good framerates.
Anyway, the game itself is simply stunning. The graphics, gameplay, sound effects... everything. The amount of work that has gone into the making of this game is simply amazing. Props to the game developers. (Y) If you haven't played the game yet, I suggest you run over to the nearest video game store and get yourself a copy. Trust me, it's definitely worth it.
I can't wait to get my hands on Far Cry: Instincts.
