Help(Madden2004)

Postby Nel on Tue Dec 16, 2003 11:53 pm

Can somebody give me some tips on how to lessen the passing yards by the cpu? I always give the cpu about 350yds average on passing. Is there a way to lessen it? Btw i play on all-pro 15mins.

Try playing Nickel, Dime or even Quarters. http://www.maddenmania.com

I use the 3-4 (or whichever one has 4 linebackers and 3 linemen) and use a lot of man coverage, and if it's a third down/I know they'll throw it situation use the dime-normal and double wide. You get double coverage on the two widest wide receivers and coverage on everyone else. Also try not to run the same plays too many times in a row as the cpu will pick up on that and predict the play.

I use the 3-4 as well. Try to blitz sometimes, if you get to the QB you can force a bad pass or get a sack. I am usually either a def. lineman or a blitzer.

Nope. I'm kinda sick of it but i just love the franchise mode of this game unlike live. Everytime i play the scores are on the 40's. The cpu always gets away with the boot leg or whatever they call that play. I wonder what does holdout mean?

when a player holds out it means he wants a contract extension or more money.

15 min. quarters are way too long. I usually play with 7 min and I still have normal stats.

sometimes the best pass D can be "nickel (or dime i forgot) double wide" where only four rush and the rest are covering.

I usually play MLB or another linebacker. For me its too hard to get a sack with a D-lineman.

I use that play all the time, it's one of my audibles (along with the "3-4 - Pinch", "3-4 - Zone coverage(I don't know the exact name but it's the first zone play, it's the middle play)" and I think I have a "dime - thunder smoke, or under smoke"

I usually use a linebacker that's blitzing or playing a zone, but a lot of the time I use my lineman that's on the far right if you're looking through the qb's eyes. He's Kerney on the Falcons and I've got about 4 sacks with him in 5 games. :) I also use Keith Brooking a lot, my MLB.

Play 10 minute games with accelerated clock on. Or you can try to find some sliders on the internet.

I would like some madden help, so I thought I'd keep this in one thread.

How in the hell does motion work in the game. Sometimes I do it, and I never have any idea how I've done it. So please tell me.

I think motion is were the WR or TE moves from left to right or the other way around. It is usually helpfull to give your reciever an open route. But if you're playing against a good defensive team its pretty useless.

I'm a console user but I press down before the snap. The under your player something like an <O> comes up under him. The arrows say which direction he can move. Then press left or right and he should go.
