It's about time to scrape the bottom of the barrel. Here are the biggest names of remaining free agents.
Tristan Thompson
JR Smith
Norris Cole
It turns out JR Smith opting out was a mistake. He took a gamble and it's not paying off too well. I think the Cavaliers will be able to re-sign him eventually. As for Tristan Thompson, he had an excellent chemistry in LBJ system. But his price tag might just be too high for the Cavs to retain him. Perhaps to the Knicks or Lakers? Norris Cole also should do well for PG depleted teams like the Knicks imo.

AFAIK Thompson already signed, I think 4 yr/80M
Cole will likely resign with Pelicans, but he was connected with 76ers.

If Seth Curry signs a full contract then I think Cole will end up in Philly and also talks with double T and the Cavs broke down I think but they will surly get it done as LeBron wants Thompson back.
JR is a clown.
Nothing new here....

Iirc either side has to take a huge sacrifice in order for Tristan to remain in Cleveland. The Cavaliers are financially strapped. It'll be interesting if they'll willingly pay luxury tax for Tristan, which would be a rare case especially for a small market team.
I'm not sold on Seth. It's tough to include him as a legit FA option despite his strong Summer League showing and his brother's PR.

For a team that was within two wins of an NBA championship despite tough luck with injuries, it wouldn't surprise me if they do bite the bullet and pay the luxury tax to retain Thompson. Either way, I think he's getting a nice pay day.
