Terrific pickup for the Spurs. His contract isn't even that big. Guess the Spurs are contenders once again.

Good for them, he chose the best situation for him. Sucks he left Portland because I felt they had a nice thing going with Lillard/Aldridge.

Word is David West is gonna choose between Spurs and the Cavs. I'm guessing Tim will play majority of his minutes at C this year with Baynes as his back up so West makes sense. What do the Cavs want another 4 for with two max players already playing that position?

Spurs as an organization are classy as fuck. They have clear goals, their players are classy, they've got international flavor, a coach who isn't only extremely witty but has what seems to be a good balance of X's and O's and can relate to players at the same time. I'm a Laker fan but God damn it if I don't respect the shit out of the Spurs. From top to bottom they find guys and get them to play the right way. I feel Pau Gasol would have been a solid addition to their style of basketball as well.

I'm glad teams like Atlanta and GS are sort of following that trend. Proper basketball.

Oh well, now the only thing worth caring about as a Portland fan is Lillard putting up great numbers while Portland gets a high lottery pick.

CJ McCollum is probably going to be starting. Aminu might play small ball PF. Blazers might be playing small ball a lot next year.

Hadn't caught that about Baynes. Guess they'll rotate Duncan/Diaw/Aldridge.

Also to Portland fans: Ed Davis isn't Alrdidge or anything but that guy is fun to watch. He plays his ass off, he's a good help defender and he's got hops. Lillard and him should have some good highlights.

I do feel sorry for Lamrock and all other Blazer fans.

They were a strong team last year then they lost pretty much there entire start lineup in one summer.

Lamrock's been through worse. He's lost championship caliber team to some city called oklahonna.

I think the Blazers will be better off in a few years. Aldridge has hit 30 in age and the Blazers had seen their best with him. It sucks to lose him for nothing but rebuilding mode isn't too bad especially with Lillard still on board. This team might come back to a life sooner than people expect.

And thus, the Spurs continue to stay relevant, and set themselves up to transition into a new era following Duncan's eventual retirement, without the pain of having to start over from scratch. Great signing.

Bruce Bowen Signs Off On LaMarcus Aldridge Wearing His Retired No. 12 Jersey For The Spurs

“You want LaMarcus to feel part of the family,” Bowen told the Express-News. “If I can have a hand in that, shoot, why not? I don’t play anymore.

“I hope it helps (Aldridge) feel comfortable,” Bowen said. “If he’s comfortable, the sky’s the limit for him here. It’s one less thing he has to worry about.”
