Michael Jordan scored 32,292 points in just 1,072 games. Kobe Bryant took 197 more games to pass Jordan.
There it is. 1) Kareem Abdul-Jabbar: 38,387; 2) Karl Malone: 36,928; 3) Kobe Bryant: 32,293; 4) Michael Jordan: 32,292.

On free throws, too. I like how they stopped the game to congratulate him, and gave him the game ball. Then they went on to play like nothing happened.

32,292.
And while I think that's definitely worth pointing out, especially to those who are going to bleat "ZOMG KOBE >>>>>>>>> JORDON NOT EVEN CLOSE KOBE GOAT BETTER THAN EVERY1 ELSE PUT TOGETHER!11!!1!!!!! LAKE SHOW LAKE SHOW LAKE SHOW MAMBAAAAAA!111111!!!11!", it still is a tremendous accomplishment and a testament to his longevity.
I have a feeling that MJ's all-time record for points in the Playoffs is safe for now, however.

Good to see Andrew finally showing his true emotion.

I've never seen Andrew this emotional. I am scared.

Talk enough shit about Jordan and Andrew still come to work without his admin badge on.

For anyone who's wondering, in the original Forum, an overly enthusiastic Lakers fan did actually end a post gushing about the team with the words "Lake Show, Lake Show, Lake Show!"
So that's a very old school reference there.

You know you got into Andrew's head if he types something like that.

Not really. Just a slightly exaggerated impression of fans of a particular mindset. You could substitute Kobe's name for any player or subject, and you'd know the kind of fans I'm referring to.

He didn't bow before Kobe and admit that he's a vastly superior player. What an egotistical jerk.
Seriously though, well said on his part. Former players are not always gracious towards the accomplishments of the following generations - and MJ himself hasn't always been above that - so it's good to see him express those sentiments.

Kobe should be the best Laker ever. Just sayin'.
Magic Johnson disagrees.

Couldn't disagree more. Just sayin'.
Magic Johnson disagrees.

Maybe because he was the better player, thus meaning he was the better Laker ?

They did refer to him as the greatest player in Lakers franchise history during the play stoppage. Also, with Magic saying the Lakers should lose every game, I don't think they would want him known add that player.
