Mike Scott agrees to re-sign with Hawks

Restricted free agent forward Mike Scott will re-sign with the Atlanta Hawks for three years and $10 million, according to Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski. He was reportedly being courted by CSKA Moscow, but the Hawks came through with an offer he didn't want to pass up. Scott confirmed the news on Twitter:

Glad to be back ?. #404

Scott was drafted No. 43 overall in 2012 by Atlanta, but only played 40 games in his first season. Last year he earned a spot in new coach Mike Budenholzer's rotation, averaging 9.6 points and 3.6 rebounds in 18.5 minutes per game. His role increased in the second half of the season and he was an important part of the Hawks pushing the Indiana Pacers to seven games in the first round of the playoffs.

If Scott can bump up his 31-percent mark from 3-point range, that contract could look like a bargain. He'll need to do that, though, or he'll risk losing his minutes to rookie Adreian Payne next season.
