James, Wade and Bosh opts out.

Postby Kevin on Tue Jun 24, 2014 11:47 pm

Lebron will opt out of his contract

LeBron James' agent Rich Paul has informed the Miami Heat that the four-time NBA MVP will exercise his early termination option and become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

Bosh and James both said last week that the three would meet before deciding anything about their respective futures, and it has been widely speculated that they might have to rework their deals to keep the Big Three together in Miami.

Wade opts out.

The Miami Heat confirmed Saturday that Dwyane Wade has joined LeBron James in opting out of the final year of his contract to become a free agent, which could open up cap space for the Miami. Contrary to earlier reports, CBSSports.com's Ken Berger reports that Chris Bosh has not decided whether to opt out of the remaining $42.6 million he's owed over the next two years, including $20.5 million next season.

Bosh opts out.

Chris Bosh's agent informed Miami Heat President Pat Riley that Bosh will exercise his contract's early termination option and become a free agent July 1.

Henry Thomas, Bosh's agent, told Riley on Sunday afternoon, one day after Thomas told Riley that two of his other clients, Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem, also will become a free agents this summer.

Nah they're not crying they opted out from becoming Heat fans and are now free-agents as well. Carmelo also opted out this will be interesting.

And what about playoff Wade? Can't count him as 1...

I find it amusing that it's actually mostly the Lakers fans making mockery out of Heat fans on sudden fandom. It's funny because if we go by that standard, only Lakers fan I know in this forum would be Jackal.

On topic, this is wrong guy opting out of contract, should have been Wade. Perhaps LBJ wants to team up with Melo? That'd be a huge mistake, I mean huge. Melo's not the player people think he is.

Count me in as a member of the "it's much ado about nothing" camp. While I guess we can't entirely rule out the possibility of LeBron leaving Miami until his name's on the contract, it seems far more likely that he's simply opting out to take advantage of the opportunity to negotiate new terms. He's either taking less money to allow the Heat to make some moves, or he's getting more money as a thank you for being the best player on the planet and taking a paycut to join them in the first place.

Sure, the Heat had their clocks cleaned in the Finals, but they still made the Finals four straight years, won back-to-back titles, and were three wins away from threepeating. They've still got a great team and are in a state with appealing income tax laws. He's in a great situation, it just seems unlikely that he'd want to leave.

I have no beef with anyone hating the fanbase but trolling isnt cool neither the provocation against other members constantly and childishly. You were already warned by admin Pdub iirc for being involved in a silly spam war which you initiated the same way.

I really cant tell his intention at all this time again. But this surely widens his options. He can take less to accomodate other star or he can simply leave the team, Or ofc sign to a longer and nicer contract. He hasnt said much so I am thinking this will be another last min decision after exploring and weighing all options kinda like in 2010 frenzy.

Perhaps. Like I said, I don't think we can rule out that possibility. All the same though, compare the current situation to the one he found himself in back in 2010. There, he'd hit a wall, and it was unlikely that that team was going to go any further. The wall he's hit this time was falling a few wins short of a third straight championship, in a fourth straight Finals appearance. There's still a promising future in Miami as far as his personal success and team success is concerned. There was a lot more uncertainty and cause for concern in Cleveland.

Tough to know with him, especially with the way his free agency went before, but I'd be far more surprised if he left Miami than if he stayed, either reaping a bigger payday or taking a further paycut so that the team can re-load.

Go back to Cleveland play with Kyrie, draft Wiggins or Parker, LeBron will play the 4, trade Bennett's ass out of Cleveland, reconcile with the Cavs fans and maybe win a ring with them.

LeBron stays; he, Wade & Bosh take pay cuts to add a couple second-tier free agents. Heat steamroll their way to the 2015 finals, beat the Carmelos in 5.

My prediction: Wade doesn't opt out, prompting Bosh to not opt out. LeaveBron well... leaves.

To where? I have no earthly idea. Hopefully to the West coast or to Charlotte.

Probably will turn into the most discussed thread this offseason and little Heat-hating bitch made the thread? Where is the professionalism? (N)

benji mofo getting old for news.

lolz at even my man Steve joining the parade.

Anyway, on topic, I don't think LeBron will leave Heat. Will be Bosh if any of the big 3 do. I get the whole opting out thing, it's his right. And all 3 have to opt out if they want to make a noticeable change anyway. Quite interesting times.

Melo and LeBron teaming up is very unlikely in my opinion. Melo will probably be off to the Bulls.

My only desire for the Heat will be, get rid of Chalmers, Toney Douglas and bring in a GOOD PG. And ride that Oden. So that the Giant gets into Castle Black this time(got metaphor since Qballer brought it up).

And I don't understand what a Shabazz Napier is...

Not little, very big.

Not a professional.

Melo will probably be off to the Bulls.

The best bet.

Chalmers was a good PG (not great). Dunno what happened to him. A Ty Lawson would be great here.

And ride that Oden. So that the Giant gets into Castle Black this time.

Don't. It'll just break his back
