2014 Playoffs: (2) Miami vs. (6) Brooklyn

Postby Lamrock on Mon May 05, 2014 6:37 am

Heartbreaking loss for my second favorite team but I guess there's only one Damian Lillard.. This should be more interesting though with the pierce/kg vs Lbj rivalry and the season series sweep. Having said that, Brooklyn is weak. Heat in 5.

I feel offended by the poll options. 5th to 8th options in the poll should have been excluded from the list. But I can see how Lamrock wanted to make it up with 9th option...

I'll go with the Heat in six. The 4-0 season sweep invites speculation of an upset, and it's not completely unthinkable, but I'd still say fairly unlikely. The Nets have played the Heat well enough this season to have a shot at taking a couple, but unless the Pacers regain their form, I'm leery of picking against the Heat until the NBA Finals. If they're falling short of the championship, right now I'd say it's going to have to be a team from the West that denies them.

i am pretty sure the heat will win it all this year but like you said, the 4-0 sweep will open up discussion for this series. Brooklyn was built for this series so we will see but i dont see anyone beating the heat this season

THE TRUTH OWNS LEBRON NO MVP JAMES.

Season is pretty irrelevant now. Bulls beat Miami in past couple of season series', but that didn't matter much in the playoffs.

Yep. And it will be highly entertaining because Pierce and KG--both can really fuck LJ up in the head

This is the series where the Heat are going to miss Joel Anthony and Mike Miller. Joel was no slouch in his limited role. He was an instant positive energy, a fine reliable player especially whenever the depth played all dead. Mike Miller was pretty much the best bet off the bench both on offense and defense. Some say James Jones and Ray Allen filled in nicely in for his absence but he was a superior defender to either of them. Both were vital keys to the Heat's position-less basketball.

But one thing I seriously doubt about the Nets in this series is Jason Kidd. Spoelstra is no joke, is a seasoned veteran that went through a lot of adversity and success in his short career. Jason Kidd is a diva, had the superstar loaded team on a plate from the get go based on his popularity. This is where these two teams are separated. You can say Kidd's unorthodox but I say elementary. Expect the Nets to play a mind game, plenty of it in this series. Spoelstra knows it's coming and is ready.

Oh well. Let's just let this thread sink...

Because even if KG had no points, I'm confident Nets, just like Pacers will fight back (Y)

lolz at LeBron James poor numbers today. MVP speech yesterday and this is the performance he replies with. :?

6-0 now for the Heat in postseason. Crown them the championship early. This is meaningless.

Once again, the Nets hung with the Heat for a while, but Miami pulled away as the game wore on.

its funny because the first round this year was probably the most exciting first round ever for me but on a whole the playoffs are not very good because i know the winner.

Don't laugh people. There will come a day when both KG and D-Will will score in one game and beat the Heat.

NovU wrote:6-0 now for the Heat in postseason. Crown them the championship early. This is meaningless.

Oh wow, for realz? The Heat have been shitty in the post season. They didn't improve on their horrendous season ending form. It's just that they have faced teams shittier than them, it has been an easy ride so far. Just look at that shooting percentage today. And Ray Allen had to bail Big3 arses' in both games. Not to mention the disappointing absence of spark in a rested DWade. Only positive thing is 5 players always having double digit scoring.

Even ass broke Pacers can beat Heat in 6 if Mr. Ex-MVP doesn't step it up. But one thing I will do give it up for them is their genius strategy to get the 2nd seed and avoid Wizards/Bulls.

I see what you are trying to do there. Jinx the shit out of Heat

But for real though, I don't think Heat will be able to pull if off this year. Too much inconsistency and whichever team will come out from the West(OKC/Spurs) will have more energy and motivation than them.

Another close game in the first half with the Nets holding on to a two point advantage, but in the first couple of games, they haven't had enough steam to hang with the Heat for the full 48.
