Charlotte Bobcats article about Kemba Walker

I'm loving the play of Charlotte Bobcats NBA point guard Kemba Walker. I'm impressed with how the Charlotte Bobcats played this season finishing with a record of 43-39. Kemba Walker lol no. Hornets fans should be thanking Al Jefferson for this season.

Can't read the article for some reason, but I'll sum up his game for you.

He's an all-around very good PG. He's not a top tier player right now, but he's got top-tier abilities. He really doesn't have a best attribute at the moment.

Currently, he's a good scorer, good passer, good defender, and a great rebounder for his position. He's an improving playmaker, and holds on to the ball very well. He led the NBA in touches this season, so his 3:1 assist/TO ratio (over 3.5:1 since ASW) is extremely impressive. Post ASW, he's averaging 17 and 8.

Bobcats fans have seen two extremely different Kemba Walkers this season. In the first half of the season, he was a very good scorer, shooting decent percentages for the first time, but was adjusting to play with Al Jefferson and as a result had very low assist numbers. He averaged 21.5/5.4/4.4 on 56.4TS% in December, alongside an only-kind-of-healthy Al Jefferson. This trend continued through January, though his assist numbers saw an uptick as Jefferson broke out into his current obvious-All-Star form. In classic Bobcat fashion, Kemba sprained his ankle the very next week, came back three weeks later, and bricked every shot in his sight for the rest of February. After shooting 45% until his injury, Kemba has been completely incapable of finding the basket and shot just 35.7% post-all-star break (pretty sure it's worse if you include all of February).

Believe it or not, there's a silver lining in shooting sub-Ricky Rubio/Brandon Jennings percentages. Kemba has become a legit playmaking PG and he's contributing in other areas he didn't before. He has been a better defender, and most of all, a better playmaker. He sets up Big Al for easy finishes at the basket (something that was not happening earlier) and is finding the other guys like Hendo, McBob, CDR, etc for good shots and has been increasing his assist totals every month, averaging 7.7apg since the All-Star break.

He's still taking his typical 15 shots per game and is doing it within the flow of the offense and we're winning lots of games even when Kemba has been building brick houses, so once this version of Kemba finally finds his shot, look out. I think he'll be averaging 19/7 next season on percentages well above 40% next season. In an Eastern Conference where Joe Johnson, Paul Millsap, and Demar Derozan made the All-Star, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Kemba follow a very similar player in John Wall into a breakout season next year and contend for an All-Star appearance.




Al Jefferson really is the big story in Charlotte this year though. I don't think there's a question about that.

I mention Al Jefferson in the article. The article question is about Kemba Walker being a top 10 PG. I believe that Al Jefferson and Kemba Walker are the two biggest reason for the Bobcats success. I think Al is more of the reason
