Jason Kidd is an arrogant selfish jerk.

Jason Kidd said he his wife Joumana will take their family and go to another team if the New Jersey Nets move their team to Long Island, New York.

He will move to another city and change teams, before he will move to Long Island and stay loyal to the New Jersey Nets.

Man I can't believe how stupid this Kidd is, what a self-centered moran.

Okay Jason, we will turn our entire franchise over to your highness, sorry we were thinking about our own investment. Maybe the owners should consult with Kidd about taking a shit, let him pick which toliet he is comfortable with.

I now have added more distaste for Joumana the former Budweiser Girl and that little kid that gets more airtime than Aaron Williams (not the little kid's fault).

:x :x :x

You hate Lebron James
You hate Michael Finley
and Now Jason Kidd

Hmm, who'll be next?

Thu Oct 23, 2003 3:33 am

I do not hate LeBron James, I hate TNT and ESPN selling out good teams to show LeBron James.

I believe Michael Finley is overrated, I do not hate him, I just wanted to point out his poor defense and his complete lack of clutch leadership.

I do hate Jason Kidd though. Although he is living proof that you don't really have to know how to shoot a basketball to be good at it.

Hate is the wrong for any of it.

So what man  , if the star-player makes it clear he doesnt want to play in Long Island, he is entitled to his opinion and should say it, if he doesnt wanna go there cuz he doesnt like it, who's gonna blame him, it's not wrong to tell that, i got to agree that demanding a trade is a bit too far but there are more players who dont want to play for some teams cuz their location aint nice or stuff. And great shooting doesnt make a great basketball player, Kidd is idd the living proof of this, he is only the best pg at the moment  , hey nothing personal man :) , i just think you are making something big from something small(cuz he doesnt wanna play there makes him a selfcentered bastard who cant play ball  ).
Sometimes players just gotta play hard to get what they want(even though it could be bluff), or at least try it, the same with (for example Martin's)contract extension(s)

Thu Oct 23, 2003 7:16 pm

That's why they're the star players. The franchise players.

They don't just make ridiculous sums of $$$ but they also have a say on the team even though they don't own it.

I seem to remember Tim Duncan, saying that he wouldn't resign with the Spurs unless the team moved from the Alamodome? (I forgot which, is the Alamadome the former or the current Spurs home?)

*This was a few years back during the big FA season which saw the likes of T-Mac and G. Hill as FA's before eventually signing with the Magic.*

Besides, it's not easy moving your family around.

Thu Oct 23, 2003 7:37 pm

The alamodome is their old home. the sbc centre is the spurs new home

Thu Oct 23, 2003 7:49 pm

It's nothing new. Didn't a couple of Hornets have reservations about going to New Orleans?

Thu Oct 23, 2003 9:18 pm

Andrew wrote:It's nothing new. Didn't a couple of Hornets have reservations about going to New Orleans?

One of them was Baron Davis and wasn't the second one David Wesley?

Fri Oct 24, 2003 12:01 am

Possibly. I can't remember offhand.

Fri Oct 24, 2003 8:56 am

move to Long Island and stay loyal to the New Jersey Nets.

You realize of course that he is being loyal to the New Jersey Nets. It's the Long Island Nets that he doesn't care to be part of...

As a New Jerseyan...I also would say a big 'screw you' to the team if they leave for Long Island. After their first season where they weren't garbage they had the nerve to jack ticket prices way up. Then they blame us when no one shows up. I got news for you guys...it takes a few years of competitive basketball before you build a real fan base that comes to your games. Ask the Sacramento Kings...they used to play to empty houses...then they got good in 99 and in three years they now have the rowdiest sell-out crowds in the league.

But whatever...if they want to leave then screw'em...

Fri Oct 24, 2003 9:06 am

Didnt Sacramento have like the longest sellout streak from around 94 to 98? They only made th playoffs once in that time, and in 98 when they struggled bad again it ended, but when cwebb and divacs came to town it picked up again...
But I understand what your saying egarret, if they bail, you have every reason to not like them imo

Fri Oct 24, 2003 10:46 am

Actually the KINGS Ruled California (Not really but in PLAYERS) From the years 92 to 94 they got Mitch Richmond , Duane Causwell , Wayman Tisdale and my MAN my Brotha....Spudd Webb  Yes and they had the best logo ever which was the old one Red and Blue :D

Could you roll your eyes one more time....
"aint nice or stuff" :?:

He is a complete moron, deal with it, I never said he couldn't play the point, so what's the deal with badgering on and on about that crap?

I think the New York Nets would be okay by most of the people in New York, the world's largest market. If they want to move their team from some hole in the earth, you and Jason Kidd and his stupid wife will have to deal with it. Jason Kidd has no say dude, If you think he said "Sign Alonzo Mourning or I will leave!" or anything like this, you are seriously mistaken, he's just a player, not Michael Jordan, not Shaq, not a board member, I do not think the Nets front office sits around worrying about what Jason Kidd thinks of something before they do it, nor after they do it.

You over estimate everything, Jason Kidd and Tim Duncan do not build arenas or move teams. Maybe by filling the seats they help make money, but it was Rod Thorn who brought Jason Kidd to New Jersey not Jason Kidd, and it will be the Head of Basketball Operations that will decide who gets to play for the Nets, and it's owners will decide where they play, not Jason Kidd. The fact the discussions took place at all, and without Jason Kidd being involved, tells you he runs the point and that is it.

I seem to remember Tim Duncan, saying that he wouldn't resign with the Spurs unless the team moved from the Alamodome? (I forgot which, is the Alamadome the former or the current Spurs home?)

Show me some proof of this, I remember something about the players complaining about the size of the backdrop at the Alamodome, but I seriously doubt Tim Duncan demanded a new arena or else, it's not his style, after all he's not Jason Kidd, he has two rings, unlike the world's greatest point guard.

Sat Oct 25, 2003 5:52 am

^ shut the fuck up!! oh are you still mad that the nets RAPED the C's in the playoffs the lost two years. Or that the sox get raped by the yankees year after year.

There is definitely someone here who needs to grow up...but it's not Jason Kidd...

Sat Oct 25, 2003 6:26 am

Is that a picture of Kobe "raping" Ming?

"Rape"
"Rape"
"Rape"

Nice selection of words.

I am not mad about anything pertaining to the Boston Celtics or Boston Red Sox.

It's Kidd who's pissed me off, by believing someone might just care about where his house is in comparison to the arena he plays in.

Just play ball already!

Sat Oct 25, 2003 7:36 am

enough! u guys this tread is turning into a flaming thread..so i suggest u guys to stop it before Andrew locks this up...

Sat Oct 25, 2003 8:29 am

Paul, i wasnt suggesting players have everything to say, i just meant to make clear that they do give account to what their star player wants, not that Kidd makes managing decions :) . And u cant blame a player for trying to get what he wants, everyone does it these days so it aint a shock to me.
U said he was the living proof of that you dont have to know how to shoot a basketball to be good at it and i kind of misinterpreted you  , im sorry for that, i realised it later but i wast just too lazy to edit my post :) , so again my apologies.
Last, "aint nice or stuff" i just didnt want to get in to any details because i dont know all(or even one)the reasons why Kidd doesnt wanna be there so i said this.
No hard feelings man (y)

Sat Oct 25, 2003 9:35 am

Well, I never liked Jason Kidd, in fact, I've always absolutley hated him. Go PP_the_truth!!!

Disclaimer: I'm not trying to get in on the flaminng situation

Sat Oct 25, 2003 11:36 am

Actually, Jason Kidd did have a say in going to New Jersey; remember how bad New Jersey was with Marbury? Remember part of the reason Marbury was traded for Kidd? Because Kidd was arrested for beating his wife. That same offseasn, Clifford Robinson was traded because of legal problems with marijuana. Marbury got a DUI after he came to Phoenix...he was clean, legally, but he was known as a selfish player. Phoenix likes players who are upstanding citizens...the guys that get in legal trouble are traded.

In my opinion, this is a stupid move by Kidd. No offense to EG or other New Jersey residents, but New Jersey isn't exactly a large market, and the Nets are one of the best teams (if not the best) in the East. With that being said, everyone must remember that the NBA is a business, and Long Island is incredibly close to what major US city, one of the largest markets in the world, and that same city has also been having a horrible time with the basketball team that plays in Madison Square Garden...the Nets can make a shitload of money with this and increase their fanbase tenfold. What's Jason Kidd's problem with that? Moving to a larger market should attract more free agents and make the team better, not to mention they would get new facilities and probably have sell-out crowds in a new stadium. Again, what's the problem? That he has to move his family across the river?

The Nets as the New Jersey Nets are already incredibly close to that major US city.

Sat Oct 25, 2003 10:01 pm

Thanks Colin, that was needed.

Besides anything said here, Long Island would be the real hole for a team to go, so don't even think that's a good idea. In NY most people consider the same NJ Devils a hometown team, and some of them don't even know where the NY Islanders are located & play. Long Island is way farther than NJ (east rutherford) from that big market city you guys are mentioning, so Kidd's reaction might be for more than one reason.

Even when he doesn't have a say about this or he ever did with the signing of Mourning, he has his rights, like others already explained he's at the moment the franchise player & the only player the Nets really want to keep.

scubilete wrote:Long Island is way farther than NJ (east rutherford) from that big market city you guys are mentioning, so Kidd's reaction might be for more than one reason.

Exactly. North Jersey and New York City are all in the same area. From my house we can ride a train to the City in about a half hour. Long Island is further away. New Jersey is actually a pretty big market for that exact reason. Right now attendance is down because they continue to raise prices and their long crap streak killed their fanbase...

But really...this thread is one long flame and should go away. As a general rule any thread that has a subject insulting a particular person or group of people...or uses the word "suck" in any form is a flame waiting to happen...

Few weeks ago I found out we're getting Nets home games on tv here in NY, so we don't have to stick with Layden nor tolerate his decisions that much
