I'm absolutely shocked that Curry came from behind and actually beat out Kobe & CP3 (and Lin) in a popularity contest. Warriors media must've had some sort of campaign to get him in

Also a little surprised about Love beating out Dwight

I like that Curry got in as a starter, being a passenger on the Stephen Curry bandwagon and all.

Shame that Howard didn't get voted in as a starter, but I think Griffin and Love deserve the starting nod more than him. I'm sure the head coaches will select Harden and Howard to the reserves, and I'll be a happy Rockets fan.

I think the long injuries to those three slowed down the votes coming in for them giving Curry the votes to take the top.

I'm surprised that Love even got the amount of votes he had, must be that talk of him being traded to the Lakers which made him noticeable to the fans.

So, in the second year of the frontcourt/backcourt approach in the balloting, the East's starting lineup is without a centre (or at least a power forward who can also play centre). I guess that was going to happen at some point; I suppose it's better than voting in a centre that doesn't really deserve the nod simply out of principle, but it makes for an unusual starting five. I assume LeBron will jump centre.

I think Paul's injury helped garner Curry some attention as a point guard who's playing well in the West, as well as Kobe publicly endorsing him. Beyond that, I'm guessing the Warriors and Curry himself are rising in popularity.

Wow fans are so stupid, you still have Wade and Kobe with nearly 7 figure votes. Kobe played like 5 shitty games altogether and Wade sucked hardcore this season while sitting out half the games. Besides, both needs time off from the court at all cost. It'd be extremely stupid for them to play in the ASG. Fan voting is stupid, just let Sauru do it ffs.

Reserves just announced. Snubs include Anthony Davis, Deandre Jordan, David Lee, Kyle Lowry, & Arron Afflalo

i hope DJ or Davis are named as a replacement for Kobe. They lead the league in rebounds & blocks and Davis is 6th in the league in Efficiency

EASTERN CONFERENCE

John Wall (Washington Wizards)
Joe Johnson (Brooklyn Nets)
DeMar DeRozan (Toronto Raptors)
Roy Hibbert (Indiana Pacers)
Joakim Noah (Chicago Bulls)
Paul Millsap (Atlanta Hawks)
Chris Bosh (Miami Heat)

WESTERN CONFERENCE

Chris Paul (Los Angeles Clippers)
Damian Lillard (Portland Trail Blazers)
Tony Parker (San Antonio Spurs)
James Harden (Houston Rockets)
LaMarcus Aldridge (Portland Trail Blazers)
Dwight Howard (Houston Rockets)
Dirk Nowitzki (Dallas Mavericks)

Definitely some snubs, but some fair picks at the same time. Nice to see Noah get the nod again.

So who is guarding Lebron? Love or Griffin? Or will they go with the KD vs Lebron approach? 5-out 0-in offense?

i bet we will see some early substitutions in the East to get the big guys some rotation time to even out the matchups.

It's hard to complain about the all-star rosters with Portland getting two guys in for the first time in well over a decade. Well deserved I might add. Anthony Davis stands out as the biggest snub, as he's been sensational this year, but I bet either he or Cousins gets Kobe's spot. Maybe Dragic if they really want a guard.

The East looks pretty good with the exception of Joe Johnson. His stats are nothing special and the Nets are still a disappointment. Lance Stephenson is who I would I would have picked over him, but whatever. Kyle Lowry is also a lot better than DeRozan but since the All-Star game is just for fun, I could care less if it's as much about rewarding teams with good records as individual player performances. Also glad that Millsap made it. Josh Smith signing looks just as bad as it did at the time for Detroit.

It's all for fun anyways. Will be looking forward to see some action from Wall and DeRozan. I didn't know Dirk Nowitzki, Joe Johnson and Milsap were doing so well.

Lance Stephenson, Lowry and Anthony Davis are probably the biggest snubs.

DeMarcus Cousins was already pissed.

LATEST NEWS from rotoworld
DeMarcus Cousins double-doubled for the 31st time this season with 31 points, 16 rebounds, three assists and a block in Friday's loss to the Celtics.

Cousins hit 9-of-11 free throws and amazingly he does this on a night in which he admitted he wasn't into the game, probably because he was snubbed from the All Star team. Between Cousins and Isaiah Thomas (24 points, 9-of-23 FGs, three treys, six assists) the Kings had no offense and it required both players to push the envelope with Rudy Gay out. Feb 8 - 12:03 AM

So, what's the West starting 5 gonna be? CP3 or Davis?

Cousins needs to mentally mature a bit more, this is not the first time he did something LOL.

That would be unfair. Because the starting 5 are supposed to be by fan votes. So, after Kobe and the most vote among all the other players should get the start. That would mean Chris Paul(804,309 > Beard - 470,381). Also CP3 was the ASG MVP last year.

Curry would easily play in SG. If he starts Harden, that would just be biased.

How exactly would that be biased? It was biased enough for fans to vote in an injured Kobe, especially when there were players more deserving (in terms of this season) of getting the starting nod.

You could argue that it's unfair, but that's the way it is. The league picks the replacements, the coach gets to select the new starter.

Biased in the sense that Harden once played under him. "Deserving" is a subjective matter, ASW is not a talent contest. Fans just want to see their favorite players get together and do some flashy shit. Yes, there are some who don't "deserve" to be there and get there with their unfair fanboys, but hey, there is a reason for that. Kobe couldn't play the next season and still will get voted in the ASW.

But talking about SGs is unfair. Because there aren't that many in the West. Only Klay Thompson comes to mind. But there are a lot of PGs there. Even Harden's teammate Lin got more votes than him. And I think that's what at least the starting 5 is about, fans getting their favorite players up there. The coaches and staff select the rest, so the scale gets a bit even if not fully.

Is there any example that comes to mind? I can't remember.
