Well, that's not going to quash the "LeBron returns to Cleveland" rumours anytime soon, even if they should be well and truly buried by now.

For a team that lost an all-time great who went on to win a title with his new team and could very well be winning another one this season, the Cavs' luck hasn't been too bad. The Bobcats weren't so lucky though, dropping out of the top three after another disappointing season.

well, that's what they get for having to wait until the 14-15 season to become the hornets. 1 more season of tank.

If they select Noel and his injury problems are behind him, then they've got a mighty bright future.

And yeah Bobcats get shitted on again. Maybe by chance they will suck ass another year and get Wiggins with the #1 next year.

so.. McLemore or Porter? sad part is, they probably could've gotten those guys at #3

Naturally, whispers of a conspiracy theory are already popping up around the Internet. To that I say...really?

I mean, the Knicks winning the first ever lottery and selecting Patrick Ewing, that's a reasonable conspiracy theory. I don't believe it myself, but it seems a lot more plausible given that it actually makes sense. I don't see the league having some grand plan to build a dynasty in Cleveland. It's not like the 2007 Finals did phenomenal ratings or anything, and that was with LeBron involved.

Of course, if the proceedings of the lottery were a little more transparent, it may invite less conspiracy theories.

Another high pick for the Cavs. Just feeling sorry for the Bobcats for losing another no. 1 pick. Glad the Suns didn't get the 1st pick because I sense they will trade it for a below average player like what they did to Rondo, Deng, etc.

Rondo wasn't a high draft pick. He was a 21st overall selection that turned out better than the Suns or Celtics likely anticipated. The year they traded Deng away, they won a league best 62 games and went to the Western Conference Finals.

Welll, Cavs look like an interesting team next year. Just too bad for Bobcats, it's like the universe is against them. Well, maybe just like Jordan, they would need 7 years to get thing together.

Nick Gilbert will now represent the Cavs when they have to deal with the free agent LeBron in 2014.

Doesn't matter. Andrew Wiggins won't be eligible until next year's draft.

Why would the Cavs draft someone who injured their ACL? Ben McLemore looks like the safest pick.

Because having a player with an injured ACL is all the rage in the NBA today.

From Zach Lowe:
A league official told me last night the league plans to stream the actual Ping-Pong ball drawing on its website at some point.

While it wouldn't put an end to conspiracy theories entirely, it'd probably be a good move. What would make for some really riveting viewing, however, would be showing each ping pong ball going into the hopper, just to build the suspense.

@Pdub Why would cavs pick Ben McLemore if they have Dion waiters they need wing man

Re: Cavs Win Lottery

Well, I feel sorry for both Bobcats and Magic teams because I thought that the first pick would go to these teams, but.... Cleveland stole the show. Maybe the draft lottery is rigged, but in my opinion Cavaliers shouldn't get the first pick because this team has already got players like ROY K. Irving, D. Waiters and T. Thompson. I don't know what they would pick because the roster is very young and it's kind of full. N. Noel would be a nice addition to the team, but Cavs have players like A. Varejao and T. Zeller which are playing well on the court. In my opinion Cavs should pick O. Porter or trade the pick away to another team that needs young blood in its roster :)

Sure, but it takes someone to set that trend in the first place. Anyone else who does it from here on out is just a poser.

Because they've been a basement dwelling team since LeBron's departure, thus they've had good odds. In 2011 they also had two shots at winning the first pick, since they owned the Clippers' lottery selection by virtue of the Baron Davis trade. If I recall correctly, it was actually the pick that would've belonged to the Clippers that ended up being first overall, with the Cavs' pick ending up being the fourth overall selection.

Also, for future reference, please avoid double and triple posting. You can edit your previous post if you have something to add.

well the magic won the first pick in back to back seasons even though the second season they had the worst chance to win it. i dont see anything wrong with a bad team winning it 2 out of 3 years
