Wall vs. Irving vs Lillard

Sun Jan 20, 2013 6:06 am

So time has passed and Parker, Kidd, Nash have aged. In prime, we have Rose, Westbrook, and Paul. Nothing short of spectacular. But young generation don't seem to be too bad either.

Who's your young point guard and why?

Kyrie Irving>>>Lillard>>Wall.

Irving is a magician with the ball. Can get to the rim and finish in amazing ways, amazing mid range game, amazing 3 point shooter. Not to mention can pass the ball really well as well. HE IS ONLY 20 DAMN YEARS OLD. 2 years younger than the other 2 guys.

Lillard is not as dominant as Irving. Lillard plays with poise and is a very good shooter and gets his teammates involved well. He doesnt finish well at the rim so consistently though. Still can take a game over in clutch. Down 15 points? No problem. 3 minutes of Lillard and it is like you were in the game all along.

Wall's biggest knock is his lack of outside shot, which is huge in my eyes. Havent watched him play a lot honestly but I think his lack of outside shooting limits what he can do overall in the game.

It's gotta be Irving. Lillard is two years older than he is.

I'd go with Irving as well, though Lillard is having a very good freshman campaign so far. He should end up being Rookie of the Year and deservedly so, but Irving's numbers are better across the board.

I don't doubt Irving being the most promising one(it's crazy how good he's been!) out of these three. But I also like what Damian's got. I guess you could say I'm bit of a Damian bias.

Damian right out of gate became a positive influence for a playoffs team. And that's while playing alongside three other veteran chuckers in Aldridge, Batum, and Matthews(And Batum this year was asked to be more of a team facilitator). If the team runs more plays through Lillard consistently and finds a role to his strength down the road, you betcha this kid will become one serious baller. And yes, he's 22 but Wade was also 22 when he entered the league.

Andre Dr...

no, okay, Irving for me as well. His athleticism and skills are really amazing considering his age and experience, and the team around him since he joined the league.

First I would have to disagree that Parker has aged. And he is in his prime right now.

To answer the question,I would have to go with Irving. That boy can ball.He proved me wrong.
Lillard is going to be a damn good player as he matures. And I would not even put Wall into this conversation.

Gotta go with Kyrie. Miles ahead of any other PG in this conversation.

Yesterday, Wall's team beat Lillard's BLosers. But seems Lillard had a better individual game statistically on losing effort.

26:22min logged: Wall: 6pts on 2/8 shooting, 3rebs, 2asts, 4to
37:33min logged: Lillard: 18pts on 6/14 shooting, 3rebs, 5asts, 3to

Lillard played 10 more minutes than Wall though.

PS: Batum triple double!

Wall is so limited because of his lack of outside shooting. Lillard just sagged off of him and let him take the 18-19 ft jumper and he missed all of them. When Wall is attacking the basket, he is really turnover prone because he has to force the issue due to his lack of outside ability.

Kyrie Irving hands down.
