Great replacement for Kidd. I guess the Pacers want George Hill to be their main point guard.

I'm not sure what the Pacers are thinking there, though if they retain George Hill it's not too bad. Fine move by the Mavericks.

An interesting trade, imo.

I actually like Mahinmi and I was wondering why he wasn't getting more playtime in Dallas. And I thought Collison was performing better then Hill in the playoffs.

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA
Indiana is pursuing a trade with Charlotte for restricted free agent point guard DJ Augustine, sources tell Y! Sports.

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA
Pacers have considered offer sheet, but prefer to make a trade for Augustine. As @DraftExpress reports, Indy traded Darren Collison to Mavs.

Seems they have a replacement lined up.

Mahnimi's not bad, he's solid in the limited amount of playing time he gets and his numbers per 36 are quite decent. He can do some good things while he's out there on the floor. I think the Pacers would've been better off keeping Collison, though.

Mahinmi was good for a couple of games last season but for whatever reason after that shows he is still raw and a backup C at best.

As much as I like Mahinmi, this deal is just great for the Mavs. Collison is very underrated (maybe also because he was injured last season) and a very efficient pass first PG.

Sad to see Mahinmi go, I liked his energy off the bench.

This is a really good move for the Mavs. I really enjoyed watching Collison when he was healthy. He's really fast and he could help the Mavs in manny ways. Don't know whether it was smart by the Pacers to let him go.
