From Ken Berger
Ron Johnson, the NBA's senior VP of referee operations, has resigned effective at the end of July, the league announced.
Johnson said David Stern asked him to improve "an already superior officiating program. ... I feel I have accomplished that mission."
Stern, in a statement, said Johnson fostered "a culture of compliance and discipline. We deeply appreciate Ron’s contributions."

Probably disgusted at how Stern forced the refs to make the Heat win so he quit.

This guy can't be serious. "already superior officiating program. ... accomplished that mission."
I wonder if anything will be done to improve officiating really. Video reviews were a step forward.

Expanding the areas where referees can check the replay when there's doubt is definitely a good approach. I know there's a fear of slowing the game down if it's overdone but they don't need to review every single play and they won't. Although the officiating in the postseason did leave something to desired, their decision to review tough out of bounds calls resulted in the correct call pretty much every time.
