2012 East Finals: (2) Heat vs. (4) Celtics

Sun May 27, 2012 4:25 pm

Damn you, Lamrock. You drunk again, aren't ya.

My homerism still runs high. The Heat in 2. But there are chances this might go to game 7, epic battle.

No Bosh, and perhaps throughout the series and possibly Finals as well.

Going with the Heat in 5, though I believe the Celtics will put up a good fight. I think the seven game series with the Sixers will prove to have taken its toll, Bradley's out for the rest of the postseason and Bosh could possibly be back at some point in the series. On one hand I feel like I'm still not giving the Celtics enough credit but if LeBron and Wade keep up their stellar play and some of the Heat's role players show up as they did in Games 5 and 6 against the Pacers, I think they'll be too much to overcome. If Bosh does make it back before the series is over and is healthy enough to be productive, that should seal the deal.

Of course, should the Celtics take it to seven games or even prevail, it won't be a complete shock. The Heat's role players could come up short, Ray Allen could catch fire at the right time and the Celtics are one of those veteran teams that show they've still got something left in the tank everytime you're ready to write them off. I do think this is where it ends for them though, but they'll go down swinging in a series that's more competitive than 4-1 may suggest.

Voted for Heat in 6. The Heat's bench status should say questionable for the series, but I do hope that Mike, Udonis, Shane and others come out and play like in game 6 vs Pacers. But if they don't, it's gonna be long series for the Miami Heat, Celtics' championship defense will crush the two-man-show which is Wade and LeBron. If Bosh comes back it's a whole other story though.

P.S. would have picked the last poll option too, but I'm sure that Pierce can come up with something new rather than 'The Wheelchair" this year. Perhaps a golf cart...

Unless the Heat wind up needing him for a game six or seven I don't think Bosh will be back at all in this series.

The Heat in 6 or 7 for me. They looked unbelievable in the last 3 games against Indy.

Heat in 6. Hopefully Bosh can return in game #5 or #6 so he can get some floor time before the Finals.

The Celtics didn't look too bad for two and a half quarters, particularly the second and early on in the third. They ran out of steam though...the Heat did not.

You know in NBA video games when it gets to the point where the CPU needs to stay competitive, so the comeback AI kicks into gear and all your players seemingly forget how to play basketball? That's what Ray Allen looks like at the moment. In all fairness he's not 100% healthy, his lift is affected and it's making his jumpshot quite flat at times, but he's looking completely out of sorts right now. It's bizarre to see him struggle from the free throw line as he has been, he's shooting under 70% in the postseason.

It'd be easy to call a sweep after Game 1 but I still think the Celtics are capable of taking one at home. If Miami's role players continue to step up and support LeBron and Wade though, that's probably the best they can hope for. Still, the Celtics missed a bunch of free throws and Pierce had an off-night shooting the ball. The rest of the series could be more competitive than the final 18 minutes of this one would suggest.

If this postseason has been any indication, you can't accurately judge/predict a series by 1 game anyway.

Not bad. But I can't say this was a convincing victory. The Celtics will be making an adjustment and the series will heat up. I still see 7 game series.

so as much as i didnt want to i had to pick the heat in 5. we really needed bradley for this series and we needed bosh to remain out the entire time. if it went down that way we would have had a slim chance. i gotta say though as this will be the last series for the celtics with the "big 3" that i am very impressed with how KG played in the playoffs this season. would have liked allen and pierce to step up more
